Get your battery checked out. Probably something to do with your primary ignition.

Why is my 2002 Ford Explorer V8 cranks but won't start?

No spark or no gas. Are you sure the gas gauge acurrate? When you turn the ignition key from Off to Run, but not all the way to start, listen carefully for the sound of the fuel pump. If you don't hear anything, check the fuse. If the fuse is good the pump may be bad.

Remove a spark plug wire and hold the metal end close to [but not touching!] a metal ground [use a pair of insulated pliers to keep from possibly getting shocked. Have a helper crank the engine. If you see a spark, the ignition is probably ok, although that's not 100% certain, as the timing or dwell angle could still be off.

Good luck!

Why my 2002 Ford Explorer cranks but won't start?

two engine systems has things to do with this problem, fuel and ignition.
part of the system you're going to check.
fuel pump regulator(fuel) and if it has spark(ignition).
and/or
have a shop with scan tool to diagnose exactly the other problem(s).

How many miles on engine? Skipped timing chain is possible, or bad coil pack and spark plug wiring.Nobody could've switched wiring positions to spark plugs on you, could they?
I suppose a crank sensor up front could do this?don-ohio

My ford 2001 explore sport wont start i change the fuel filter and the fuel pump but no start what could be the problem

does fuel pump get power? next is it turning over but no start cuz that could be ignition module....or if no crank but good power ...dirty or loose battery cables even at starter.or sometimes starters get hung up in flywheel or stuck on a flat spot if you tap starter while atempting to have someone turn it over this will lots of time free up strarter..

2002 ford explorer V8. Car was running great had oil changed at walmart. Drove across parking lot car stalled. I can get engine to start but will not turn over.

check for loose connector particularly the crankshaft sensor near the engine drive pulley.or fuel impact switch tripping but this is not a PATS problem since the starter cranks.
