It's either bearing or the tire.(assuming it's front wheel drive car)

something is rubbing underneath by tires or maybe a bad axle or ball joint or wheel bearing, could even be a stuck caliper, you will have to look at your tires on backside to check your ball joints,

I have an 04 hyundai elantra. When im driving slow (0-40mph) you can hear a grinding noise coming from the front driver side, but when i speed up on the highway or anything there is no more noise. it

This could be the brake pads dragging or it could be a wheel bearing. You can check one or the other. The wheel bearing is tested by jacking up the car with that wheel off the ground and see if you can rock the wheel side to side or up and down. The way to check the brakes is to take the wheel off and look at the brake pads.

Rear bearing

I would be checking first for a seized brake at that wheel as defective bearings normally will still turn by hand and when driven as you describe the noise would be a pronounced grumble. Whining noises occur when driven as you describe because the spider gears in the diff are straight cut and will make a noise when one wheel is spinning and that makes them work

Burn smell near tires and strange sound too

it will be one of two things...............either your brakes are sticking on slightly (frozen caliper) and its heating up because of the drag.................or the wheel bearings are shot and heating up when you drive it.................. that's all it can possibly be.
If you aren't good with the tools then its off to the garage for this issue.

What could cause a thumping noise from the front end when turning at low speed?

sounds like wheel bearings-1st
but hopefully your front disc need turning, or replaced.
check wheel bearings by jacking up the front end "CAREFULLY" WITH
JACK STANDS & wiggle tires,if you get more than a 1/4'' slack on 1 or the other, than it's shot. Best to replace both sides. "GOOD LUCK'' &
BE CAREFULL.

I have a 2002 elantra 4 cy., 90,000m. It makes a loud whining noise as i accelerate, its coming from the front passenger side of the car. The radiator also has a small crack in the top of it and will be...

If it was low, more then likely, your temperature would rise. Have you checked to see if the belt is making the noise or the tire? Is it just while you accelerate? You may have a vacuum leak.

2006 elantra whirring noise while driving

if you are sure its right rear of car, jack up car so the right rear is off the gound, grasp the spring with you hand, and with your other hand, spin the wheel, if you feel any roughness , your wheel bearing is bad and will need replacement.
