Not really that you need a service but ther is something wrong in the emission system. make you car go to tech when the light is on. the way they can run a scanner and findout what the problem is. before the issue goes bed.

more often than not when the service engine light comes on a scanner will typically say it is the O2 sensor (which sensor and what bank). You can replace them yourself but it is a pain in the ****. the electrical conenctors are really hard to disconnect and usually space will only allow for one hand operation. if the sensor is changed and the light is still on you may need to replace the air filter because a really dirty one will make the warning light appear. also there is a mass air flow sensor that is connected to the air intake that can get dirty. This too may trigger the warning light (even if a scanner detects it is an O2 sensor). this component must NOT be cleaned with a petroleum based cleaner. it should be sprayed out with an alcohol based cleaner such as CRC followed by a misting of compressed air. Lastly, a worn seal on the gas cap or an improper tightened gas cap will make the check engine light come on. The scanner typically will not read an O2 sensor for that.

Where is starter located?

the Plus battery cable goes to it, follow that and win.
the starter is on the lower left or right side of the engines
rear, so it can reach the flywheel (140)ring gear.

no year stated
nor what engine is there.
we cant ever guess engines, how?
some have 4 choices, out side USA more.
why do you ask. ?
XL-7 or XL7, they are not the same car. the dash MATTERS.
a funny fact that.
the XL7 is 2007- 2009 car.
you could just pay 4 bucks and look
guess 2009

Engine service soon light come on in my suzuiki xl7 2005

Hi:
There are hundreds of things that can cause the service engine light to come on, some so simple as a loose gas cap. The easy thing to do is to stop by your local auto parts store, such as autozone. They will scan your car for free, and tell you what tripped the light. Once you have a better idea what caused it, you can go from there...

Service engine soon is on XL7 2006

This is just a mileage-based reminder light that is turned on by the car's computer. The last time it was serviced and the light was on, the mechanic likely turned it off manually. The car is programmed to alert you when a specific number of miles have elapsed and the car is due for its next servicing (usually an oil change). It is NOT an indicator that there is a problem, so if your servicing is up to date, you can ignore it.
