Question about Mercedes-Benz 400-Class
These are quite easy also. There is a drain plug on the trans pan. 8mm hex I believe. Drain the pan, and then remove the 6 10mm and remove the pan. The kit will come with a new seal and filter(around $30). Once you have removed the filter and installed the new one, replace the pan and the 6 screws.Use a 1/4 drive ratchet and 10mm socket so you don't place a lot of torque on the screws and crush the seal. The kit should have a new copper or alluminum crush washer for the pan drain plug. Use dexron/mercon fluid(start with about 3 quarts). Start the car and run through the gears(R,D,2,3,2,3,D,R,P) and then top off as necessary.
