I would check to see if there is freon in it. If when replacing in the motor they disconnected any lines for the A/C, the freon escaped. I would take it back to who put the motor in, if it worked before they changed the motor, it should work now, and they should fix it.

You may be low on refrigerant (R-134a) if the a/c system does not have enough it will not engage the clutch until a pressure switch has been satisfied. You have 2 pressure switches a High side which tells the compressor when to shut off, and a low side telling it when to come on. Also if the pump runs all the time and does not cycle on and off then the refrigerant would be low. good luck

Replacement motor for 2000 Stratus with interchangeable one but wiring harness is on wrong side n not long enough. Switched out with my old one. Everything goes together fine. Hook up some cables n it...

the engine probly came from a diff. type of vehicle. the sensors are probly the same. i would double check my starter and alternator connections. if your talking about connecting the battery cables, if theres just a little spark when you touch the ground to the battery with the positive connected, i would say thats normal. you can, by process of elimination, you could unplug suspected components and see if this will isolate the problem if you are getting a big spark. also the engine wiring may not be causing the problem. make sure every thing in the car is turned off when checking, like dome lights and such. you can also pull diff. fuses to see if any of those circuits are causing the problem. make sure you hae a good engine ground.

Check the battery and the battery terminals for a good connection. Make sure that the battery terminals are clean and not corroded. Hope this helps :)

I have a 2004 dodge stratus and my mechanic says that my ac compressor does not appear to be getting power to it because it is not even trying to come on, the fuses are good, what should I check next?

I would replace the control unit. The nobs and switches inside the car. Most likely it is not sending the power to engage. You can probably get on at a junk yard for $30 to $40. Could be a relay also.

Ac clutch not engaging

you will have to see with test light if you have power going to the ac compressor you either have bad compressor or low pressure switch

My 2000 Stratus wont start either

if your check engine light does not go on when you have the key on engine off then you should check first the fuse box for the shut down fuse under the hood next to the battery if the fuses are ok then check the shut down relay on the cover of fuse box you can see which is the shut down relay remove the relay and with a test light connected to ground with the key on engine off you should have to terminals turn on your test light if not then your problem could be pcm if you get light on two then check for the relay it may be faulty but your check engine light should turn on when you have key on engine off good luck

2005 stratus w/burning smell, ac cycling fast and blowing hot air

Sounds like your ac system in low. To get the compressor to engage you must find ac resistor (usually under hood with fuses) and cross connect circuits. Most time right to left corners, you can hear and see compressor clutch engage. Now, fill system with proper refrigerant.
Once charged, compressor will=should cut on and off properly.

Ac problem

if the compressor is not engaging, the clutch on the front of compressor may be faulty..remove a/c clutch relay from fuse block underhood and jump relay pins 30 and 87 with engine running..clutch should engage..make sure you have power on pin 30
you may have a faulty a/c pressure transducer

Engine won't turn over

Sometimes the connection on the battery is good enough to run small things like that but not put off the power to start an engine. You either need a new battery, check to see if it has corrosion on the terminals or check to see if a terminal is loose. That might not be it.. but it will defintely eliminate somethings.
