Too much oil in car

You may siphon the excess oil by the engine dip stick tube after you have removed the oil dip stick, using a small plastic hose long enough to reach the oil pan and attached to an empty plastic bottle to which you have drilled a hole on the cap and sealed the hose with any material like chewing gum to prevent leakage, compress the bottle to empty the air and allow the suction to remove the excess oil . Check the oil level with the oil dip stick and continue the operation until you have reached the desired oil level. This will prevent you from removing the excess engine oil by the oil pan drain plug.

Good luck with this project.......I done this before and it works.

How to remove oil dip stick

ITS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BEHIND THE A/C COMPESSOR AND BELOW THE VALVE COVER.. LOOKING AT THE MOTOR WITH HOOD UP IT WILL BE ON THE LEFT SIDE IT SHOULD STAND UP PRETTY TALL. IF YOU ARE WANTING TO REMOVE THE WHOLE DIP STICK TUBE. ITS ATTACHED TO THE VALVE COVER BY 1 BOLT.. TO REMOVE ENTIRE DIP STICK TUBE WHICH GOES DOWN INTO THE OIL PAN.. IT SHOULD HAVE A YELLOW RING FOR DIPSTICK.

Oil dip stick handle for Ford Focus ZX3 broke off. Rest of the dip stick still in the tube. How do I retrieve the remaining portion of the oil pan dip stick?

Drill small hole in what's left inside the tube - insert bolt extractor - pull out dip stick. Material is relatively soft so drilling is easy. Buy new dip stick.

Laguna 2.2 Dynamique Techno Broken oil level stick snapped off in the tube. Just checking the oil level and as I pulled the stick out of its holder then it snapped off leaving half still in the tube. What...

Can you remove the tube? The dipstick will still be inside the tube resting at the bottom of the oil pan.The tubes are either bolt on or a press-in style. To remove press-in you will need a bolt that fits inside the tube without being too tight. Then grab the tube with a channel lock or vice grip plier and carefully turn the tube back and forth while pulling on it at the same time. The back and forth motion is circular on the axis of the tube, not up and down or side to side(you'll just break it off). After removal of the tube you can pull out the remainder of the stick.Be careful not to push the stick into the pan or you'll need to remove the pan to get it out.

Dip stick for the oil broke off and is stuck inside

SOMETIMES A SMALL POWERFUL MAGNET CAN BE USED TO EXTRACT THE STICK BUT REMOVAL OF THE OIL PAN IS ONE METHOD THAT ASSURES ALL REMNANTS OF THE DIPSTICK ARE REMOVED FROM THE OIL PAN. TRY FISHING THROUGH THE TUBE BEFORE RESORTING TO PULLING THE PAN. YOUR IMAGINATION IS A POWERFUL TOOL. BEST OF LUCK. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANK YOU FOR USING FIX-YA.
