Check that fluid reservoir is full of fluid, and that the fanbelts are all there and adjusted properly ( around 1 inch of play on longest section.)

Power steering not working

Check you power steering fluid, and check the tension of the serpentine belt. If it isn't tight enough, the pump won't turn properly.

How to fix 2002 toyota camry hard steering

Check the power steering fluid levels. Also the pump may need replacing if it isn't delivering enough hydraulic pressure to the steering box. Be sure to lube all the steering components on the chassis if possible.

Check engine light according to advance auto is the result of a power steering presure censor that has gone bad. Is this a major expense and what is involved to get it fixed? Thanks!

this isn`t a major repair cost.there is a sensor in the power steering system that needs to be replaced.even the electrical connector could be causing the problem if the connection isn`t good.use a dealer part only as if after market sensor is used its built to the same spec and can cause problems.

check the main fuses in both fuse boxes, the one in the vehicle and the one under the hood. I'm not positive on your vehicle which one contains the blown fuse, check them with a meter if you have one, Now,, when you say steering controls are you saying that whatever is attached to your steering wheel has stopped working ( radio controls, stuff like that ?) unless they disassembled anything on your steering unit , they are probably right and its just one of those things. but if they did take anything to do with the steering wheel apart, I'd ask them again to double check the work, now if by steering controls your saying the car isn' steering correctly, then it has everything to do with the work they did, and I'd take it right back to them.

Where do I buy and replace the power steering fuses?

There isn't typically any fuses related to the power steering. The power steering is just a mechanical drive. As long as there is plenty of power steering fluid in the reservoir, you won't have issues with it.

I have a 325i 2001 . power steering keeps going out

either the belt is slipping, or the pump is going out, check the fluid level,, sometimes it feels like the steering is hard due to the idle settings on the vehicle being to low, which makes the pump turn slower which makes it seem as though the pump isn't working correctly,,

no noise when turning and stiff steering is usually narrowed down to 2 things. a bad power steering pump or bad rack and pinion assembly. the rack and pinion is most of the time leaking fluid when it is bad, but you stated the fluid is good. I suggest to remove the power steering reservoir cap , start the engine and look inside the reservoir. the fluid should be swirling if the pump is working especially when turning the steering wheel. if the fluid isn' t moving then the pump is most likely bad.
