You know that is no easy question. So let me ask you, is the car worth investing in? The car has a good reputation, and is long lasting. It is 16years old, how many miles are on it? Is it nickle and dimming you to death? Have you asked a couple of garages for quotes to repair it? Keep in mind that they will suggest to have the water-pump replaced too. Over all what is the condition of the car? Is it really rusty? Does the car need a lot of other things or has it been well maintained?

Hmmmm, well the car sounds good. I would weigh the pros and cons. Look at what your going to spend to have it repaired and compare it to what it will cost you for another car that may need something down the road (like the one you already own).
If the car was on its way out then I would of said, "try again".
Well good-luck, let me know what you decided to do.

My 1998 honda civic ex wont start, I have tried changing the fuel filter, distributor cap and rotor, and air filter. It cranks but wont fire up... a couple days ago the car stopped running while my dad...

Make sure your distruibutor rotor in turning while cranking engine, if it is timing belt ok, more then likely your not getting spark to spark plugs check your ignition coil, but more then likely it's going to be your ignition module.

I have oil in the air filter on a 1997 Civic and it won't start

Check your timing belt.Take the distributer cap off and see if the rotor turns when you turn the engine over. If it doesn't, your belt is broken. But it may still be turning and just out of time. Use a timing light to see if the timing mark stays in one place or if it jumps around. If it jumps, it has slipped. Did it backfire when it died?

Car wont start

If you are getting spark to the plugs, (and assuming nothing has happened to screw up the timing of the spark), the only thing that would cause the car not to start is that you are not getting fuel into the cylinders. You can check this by squirting some ether into the air intake of the engine. You can get some start spray at an auto parts store.

1994 honda civic ex

yes indeed number one see if there is any spark, if no spark look at your distributor roter first, i suggest you replace this as well if you haven't already.. you can pick them up at any auto shop for like less than 10 bucks. if it is a second hand distributor that has been sitting in a junk yard for months, chances are one of the wires are corroded or something.. get a new one if so they are only like 30 bucks and i think you get a discount if you give them your old one for the core.

Last two days my car wont start after a few hours

Try cleaning out your air filter. Blow through it with an air nozzle. If that does not work, then maybe try replacing the air filter.
