If you have a failure of the rear main bearing, replacing it will not resolve the issue. Something went wrong, and you need to find and repair that. Perhaps oiling based issues....
If the bearing failed, there is usually cap damage. This is the block and cap that hold the bearing.
Really, you cannot correctly fix these issues without the engine out and disassembled. There are machining processes that need to happen, like align boring, and clearance measurements.
