Question about 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix
The power steering reservoir on this car is on the passenger side, back of the motor, far down. you will see a small cap with a picture of a white steering wheel. keep looking, it's difficult to see but it is there!
as for the noise, my first suspicions would either be upper strut bearings, or possible a lower control arm bushing pulling out of place. failing those, could be a seizing tie rod end or ball joint. very unlikely, but not to be ruled out, is the intermediate steering shaft (what connects your steering wheel to the steering rack). a mechanic with a good knowledge in suspension diagnosis should be able to pick off your problem. if you wish to continue diagnosing yourself, a mechanics stethascope can be very useful to hear wear the steering linkage is binding. good luck!
