I would check for spark at the spark plugs with a spark tester. Also, I would check for fuel pressure at the fuel fitting, that fitting is on the driver side, towards that back of the intake manifold on the fuel rail.

Problem for GMC 1998 Suburban DIESEL DIES while

Its called the fuel pump cylinoide which is attached to the fuel pump. Unless the fuel pump is bad, you got an expensive part to buy around $2500 or the cylinoide is $900 whichever is broken. This is a know issue for GMC deisel suburbans 6.5.

I need to add freon ton a 1998 suburban. I

If the compressor will run turn it on and let it run for a few minutes, the line that gets cold is the low pressure side, this is usually the one closest to the firewall. The reason that they are 6 inches apart is that they are on opposite sides of the orfice tube, hence one is high pressure and one is low.

Problem for GMC 1998 Suburban DIESEL DIES while

there is water in the fuel, there should be a fuel water seperator in the engine compartment, look in your owners manual and it should tell you the steps to drain the water from it, it should take a few minutes

1998 suburban runs terribly when it is damp outside during and after a rain. Also runs bad in warmertemps at initial start. Today and on other occasions I have heard what sounds like a popping sound around...

Sounds like a good place to start would be a new set of plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, depending on what ignition system you have, plugs too, if not done recently.
