Question about 2002 Suzuki XL-7

2 Answers

My Suzuki XL7 keeps dying while idling and also not starting. The battery is new, the starter is good - anyone have any suggestions? There are no longer any Suzuki dealerships in my area, so I really need to fix it myself, if possible.

Also, i know that if your oil drops below a certain level, it will shut itself off as a precaution.

Where exactly is the fuel test port on a 2003 Suzuki XL7 2.7L engine?

Follow the fuel rail back to where the fuel line connects. That is the fuel regulator. There should be a schrader port where you can connect a fuel pressure tester. Look for a cracked vacuum hose that connects nearby too. This can cause flaky problems too. If you can't find the regulator body, then it's incorporated in the gas tank with the sender.

which engine? J20, H25, H27. (all 3 same)
see that battery cable, see the plus cable, it goes to the starter.
the starter engages the flywheel, so is there, near the flywheel ring gear. and will be on the left or right side of all engines.
the V6 is right
frame 28

Cheque for disconnected vacuum hoses. sometimes this happen after working around the engine, if everything looks good, start the engine press down the accelerator pedal keep the engine running about 2500 rpm for 3 minutes then let the engine idle, if the engine idle this means you need a new idle speed control motor, if the engine still dies most probable the fuel pump it's going out if you have a code reader it's possible you have some codes and this can give a good direction

2007 Suzuki XL7 - Error code reads p0122 and the computer in the dash reads Engine Hot- A/C off. It turned over earlier but Car wont start now. Battery is new, all fluid levels ok. AND... can anyone tell...

id use no start rules, the TPS 122 may be wrong. (idle switch)
ever use a cheap scan tool?
did you remove the TPS or fiddle its screws?
yes it does have calibration, and is different for each generation of car.
use alldata dot com or mitchells online, its all there.
or get a ebay fsm for this exact car cheap and used.

no starts:
flooding or dry sparks?
besides the basics, 1: good compresion and good timing)?
do you have spark. at 4 spark plugs.?
are the sparks dry or fuel soaked ?
if no spark , trouble shoot that.
if no fuel at all, check fuel pressure.
if flooding, a long list. of checks.
if it fails to start due to loss of fuel , try test fuel.

My 2007 XL7 won't start. Battery is good power. It clicks instead of starting. On te display I get a message about the stability control power being off. Ideas?

Need to scanned to know is some fault code is stored there; keep in mind that the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) is one system integrated at ABS system, fauls are self diagnostic and turn on warning light.

The clicking is the starter soleniod

Either the battery is bad or the solenoid,or the starter it's self

Have the battery tested
If it is 4 years old,you could replace. I would test it first
Pull starter and have auto parts store test it for you.
