Question about 2004 Nissan Sentra

2004 Sentra runs but bucks and skips and won't go

2004 Nissan Sentra runs but bucks and skips and won't go over 30 miles an hour. Is it possible this is a "stretched timing chain", and if so, how much should it cost to repair this? The cam and crankshaft position sensors have already been replaced, and the problem was not fixed at all.

Yes i can be that. sometimes if you go too fast all the time in the car it can go out and you think its going out but, i think it the meter that helps you control the speed. it usually costs about 200 to fix but depends on the type of car also

Code P1138 in nissan

Code P1138 Swirl Control Valve

The Swirl Control Valve is part of the lower intake manifold... and, yes, this is something you can change out yourself depending upon your skill level.

The part will cost around $270 bucks plus the 2 gaskets which is another 12 bucks. Then the labor to do this repair is around 3.0 to 4.0 hours labor, what ever your area's hourly rate is.

If you have an extended warranty, it is possible this may be covered. Just give me your vin number and I can check for you. If you do not have an extended warranty, then these are the around about costs on the repair for this code.

Hope this help (remember comment and rated this).

MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON YESTERDAY BUT MY 2004 NISSAN SENTRA

hi, most of the time when these lights come on, its because of some sort of sensor failure. if you are not experiencing any noises or tapping in the engine compartment, this is only a failed sensor. you will have to get it diagnosed by the computer to know what specific sensor it may be. i suspect maybe a O2 sensor or egr valve. this is minor but, you Will need to get this repaired if possible.

My 2003 Nissan Sentra is getting terrible mileage

Two possible problems

1 - O2 Sensor

2 - Mass air flow sensor(Most common problem on Sentra's)

Spend a 100 buck and have a nissan dealer check it out for you as they would have the tools to check the sensors correctly
