Question about 1992 Toyota Corolla

1992 Geo Prizm/Corolla 1.6 L 120k mi, Fan 1 intermittent

1992 Geo Prizm/Corolla 1.6 L 120k mi, Fan 1 (radiator) runs for fraction of second and then quits when cold when relay is removed and restored (clicking both off and on is heard). Does not run all the time (hardly ever) when at normal temp. Jumpered fan and is very good. Checked wiring at plug, good, took apart relay box all new looking inside. Jumpered radiator sensor to no avail due to this sensor being wired to at least two other sensors, one being a vacuum switch and something else on the terrible schematic I dl'd. Need a good legible wiring schematic and I can fix myself. .4 ohms on radiator sensor when cold for all three of the used ones I have (two came from salvage yard).

I am not stupid enough to let it overheat but it will keep climbing if you let it. The highest I let is get was just below the orange band.

Where is engine fan fuse on 1991 geo prizm?

toyota corolla. it is.
but that depend on what engine option
the cooling systems totally vary by engine.
also with or with out air conditioning......???? it too can turn on this fan!
look it up on
buy the FSM book
post engine, size. better the real engine name off the hood sticker
works BEST.
the 7a was offered in 1992 first. my guess is the fuse is a guess. right? of the 4 possible.?
bad FAN (hot wire it to test it) bad wires, bad 194F switch.
a FAN relay, a fan on the black red wire. relay to fan.
or a stuck open 194F engine coolant temp switch, a voltmeter finds this in 5min work. but depends on if A/C or not.

fuse, there is 30amp fuse link, marked fan
there is

1995 geo prism is heating up

Have a coolant system pressure test done to check for system leaks. check coolant level at the radiator cap. have a compression test done to check for head gasket or cracked head.. Check fan operation and if you have a viscous fan hub replace it . Have a flow test done on the radiator to check for blocked cores.

97 geo prizm overheating

Some thing too check:
Make sure coolant level is up to line and clean (not dirty, do to clogged radiator, may need to be flushed or replaced).
Make sure air flow through the out side of radiator is clear (dirt, leaves, ect..) .
Make sure fan is working properly equip t (is not running too slow). Or Manual (belt driven) fan clutch is working properly, not loose or spinning too freely?
Check for broken or cracked fan blades itself.
Check radiator cap, (no gasket tears).
Could be thermostat going bad ?
Could be coolant temperature sensor/switch (from computer) going bad?
Check radiator hose(s) (too soft, may collapse)?
In some rare cases:
Timing could be off.
Could be water pump.
Could be blown head gasket(s).
Could have cracked head(s).
ECT..............Hope this was some help???

How to change a timing cover seal on a 1992 Geo Prizm? Car is leaking oil bad out front of engine, I assume it is the timing cover seals.

This is the same as a Toyota Corolla. Plan on replacing the timing belt and all associated parts. The problem is either the Camshaft or Crankshaft seals. Timing cover seal does NOT keep oil in the engine. The oil getting on the timing belt WILL cause premature failure.

The radiator fan on my 1992 Geo Prizm will not come on. I have tested the fan motor via a wire by pass and confirmed the motor is good. I have also replaced the relay and still the fan will not come on....

pull the cooling switch/sensor Usually the one next to or on thermostat housing. I do believe it a 2 wire. the 1 wire is for your guage. I think you can short it and see if it comes on. take a wire and plug into each other creating a complete circuit. if it comes on then replace the sensor which I think is your issue anyways.
