Question about 1990 Toyota Camry

1 Answer

My son has an older Toyota '90 Camry/2nd car now-only driven once day/week for 60 miles. A great car with mileage at 185K. I wanted to change the oil for him, then started to look at case of 10W 40 Super 76 oil using up garage space. The Toyota 2 liter engine I believe is to use 10 W 30 oil. Would you think the 10W 40 is an adequate oil change for the spring/summer months? Second car-used RT in town 20miles 1X/wk? Thanks for your help. Bob Aungier bobaungier@comcast.net

Is there a recommended mileage for the replacement of the timing chain/belt for a 2.4 liter 16 valve 2004 Camry Toyota

It has a timing chain..Can't find any info on mileage to change?? belts are about 60.000 miles, i don't think you have to worry about changing by miles ??
You may call Toyota dealer and ask service manager?? Hope this helped you ?

Will a broken timing belt damage the valves in 1990 toyota camry v6 dx

No damage will occur. This is a non-interference engine so all you will have to do is make sure the timing marks on the cams and crank are set properly.

What mileage should the timing belts be change not showing any problems but itis a second hand car 1993

Manufacturers usually recommend between 50 000 to 60 000 mile between timing belt changes, although some are as low as 30 000 miles. It is the safest to contact the agents and find out what what the recommended belt life for your vehicle is. Belts seldom show any problem before just snapping and causing considerable and expensive damage.

Whatservice time is suggested that the timing /belt be changed for the 4 cylinder?

The normal service interval is from 90-120K miles based on driving conditions.
You should consider replacing the waterpump at the same time as it is driven off the timing belt.

Timing belt

A dealer told my son in law to change the timing belt at least once before it reached 80000 miles. I would probably change it at 60, maybe 70.

Regular maintenance

If you had the 30,000 mile maintenance done, nothing of any real importance, just oil change, tire rotation, check air filter, check all fluids, tire pressures, etc. 30-60-90 K miles are important.
