Check to see if the exhaust pressure is good out of the tail pipe. If it is weak, the problem could be the catalytic converter.

If the engine has a miss the check engine light should come on.
Have you checked the computer for trouble codes ?
Was the vibration there before the mounts were replaced ?

The front wheels and steerting wheel of my 1994 ford escort shake when accelerating and braking.... could you tell me what the problem might be ?

Probably one or more bad motor or transmission mounts. You can brake torque the engine in reverse and drive, if the engine rocks violently in either step those mounts need replaced.

Why does my car (2001 Ford Escort ZX2) shake very badly when i am stopped? When i put it in neutral it stops shaking. I have taken it to 2 mechanics and they can not figure it out.

This is a common complaint on thise vehicles. There is a TSB that involves replacing motor mount brackets and adjusting and neutralizing mounts,I have done this TSB several times. It will improve the issue but not eliminate it. Basically it is a characteristic of this vehicle. At the time Ford didnt have very good luck making the 4 cyl engines run smooth. The vibration wont affect the long term durability of the engine

1998 Ford Escort ZX2 lost power/shakes

The fuel filter should be replaced every 2 years. It is easy to do since it is on the firewall. You don't even have to get under the car. Low fuel pressure can cause the issues you described. A dirty air filter can do this as well as bad spark plug wires. These cars are picky about the type of spark plugs you use as well. None of the gimming (+2, +4, splitfire) plugs should be used. I've had best luck with Motorcraft and Autolite plugs.

My ford escort hesitates and shakes like its about to stall whenever I come to a stop or right before I come to a stop. Is it the fuel line?

depends on which engine you have
seen lots of CMP issues and/or variable cam gear issues (assuming you have the ZTEC engine)

doubtful its fuel lines but could be the fuel filter or the IAC (idle air control motor)

is the check engine light on?

Trans mount?

The moun sounds like it is probably bad. But you are addressing SHAKING. Most motors don't SHAKE. It may have a miss to it or not be running smoothly. It may need a tune up or have bad gas. Just remember this car is 12 years old and may need some simple TLC.

Can missing motor mount cause oil pressure problems? My oil pressure light keeps flickering and I just got the oil changed, the spark plugs and wires changed and pcv changed. I found the engine mount...

If your engine is free to move around, your engine may be losing rotational force to engine twist. Technically, when there is a sudden loss of rotational power in the engine rotating assembly, this could cause the oil pump to stop rotating for a split second. however, there are many more reasons that you need to get the mont replaced anyway.
