This honda uses o rings, these orings should come with the compresor, also you should replace the filter dryer when replacing the compressor,if the compresor locked up you may want to flush the system to get any metal chips out or it will destroy the new one, heres a picture of the filter dryer, its located next to radiator in engine area, good luck, installing compressor 91 civic do the lines have o - 881d179.jpg

The AC compressor should either have o-rings or a special metal flanged rubber seal depending on the type of compressor. The o-rings for the AC system are not your normal rubber o-rings and a plain ordinary rubber o-ring will not last very long if installed on an AC system. Also you should lubricate the o-rings with AC compressor PAG oil before you install them.

How to replace head gasket

Replacing a head gasket is not a DIY job, unless the person has plenty of experience, knowledge, and the proper tools. The fact that a you would even ask, "how to replace 91 honda civic head gasket?", would indicate that you should not try to do that repair.

To replace a head gasket you must remove the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, valve train, and then the head. This is very involved and requires disconnecting lots of sensors and the ignition system. The head must then be checked to see if it is warped, or cracked, and repaired if necessary. You must then know how to put all this back together and torque all the bolts in the proper sequence. This takes training and skill which the average shade tree mechanic does not have.

If you are dead set on DIYing it, get a vehicle specific repair manual and dig in. Good luck China OBD2 car diagnostic tools wholesale on CareUCar

How many gaskets go behind ac compressor attaching low/high side hoses? And how much torque does the one bolt on hose block get torqued to?

Should be one oring or gasket on each line - the bolt is probably 20 or 30 ft lbs, enough to be tight without stripping it much like an engine bracket.

91 civic runs fine but stalls without warning

Could be many, many things, but just off hand I would have your fuel pump checked. Almost any garage should be able to tell if your fuel pressure is where it should be. The problem, of course, is that a failing fuel pump will run all right, and then it won't, and then it will. Eventually it will fail altogether and then your car won't start of run at all.
Hope this helps.

My 1994 Hinda Civic CX appears to be leaking oil from the distributor housing...what do youu suggest in troubleshooting my problem?

If it is coming from inside the distributor it is an oring inside the distributor. If it is coming from around the outside it is a shaft seal. Remove the distributor either way, The internal oring can only be fixed by replacing the distributor, the external one can be replace by requesting it at the local parts house.

Do i need any gooop when i change the vavle cover gasket

should not need any on these because the gaskets for the valve covers on these are more like a rubber oring and a regular gasket they are self sealing.

I replaced the head gasket on my 91 honda civic now it wont crank over???

did you put the belt back on the camshaft correctly while removing the head off the block changing the head gasket? if you dint than timing is off... STOP everything and check make sure you put everything back in timing... if you did you may have to rotate dizzie back and forth to catch the correct timing while turning your engine, "Caution" all hondas' engine is interference engine which mean if you put the timing incorrect position you will damage your valves. its very important that you put the timing back in the correct position, if not you will damage your head and valves.

Transmission line leak

Buy the kits from the dealer, lube them with oil and push into the tranny end. Make sure the old orings are not in the tranny. The kit has the orings on the installer already. Each line has oring-spacer-oring.
