Question about Mazda B3000

My 2001, B3000, Dual Sport, automatic.will not move in Drive from a stop. Once moving I can shift back into drive and go fine. Must shift down at each stop to get moving again.

    My overdrive light is not blinking nor is the check engine light. I am not sure about any stored fault codes. Auto Zone said they could not check them. Fluid is full and not burned. I bought the vehicle used from a private party so do not know the change schedule for the fluid and filter. I have not had them changed as I have only had the pickup a couple of months. It has 87000 miles and is otherwise in excellent condition.

Is the overdrive light blinking?, do u have any electronic transmission control fault codes in memory? if the transmission has more than 60,000 miles has the fluid and filter been changed? is the fluid full? is the fluid burnt and discolored? this is a Ford ranger and i am a 35 year dealer tech, so need all these questions answered to help u, Aamco transmission does the fault code tests for free as well as road tests and a preliminary report of what they think the problem is, which may be electronic in nature..

    I will say that based on my 35 years as a Ford dealer tech if no code are present in the computer then u have an internal pressure loss in the transmission hydraulic system and the transmission will need to be replaced or overhauled, the good news is that this trans is cheap to buy from Ford or Mazda, if u do need to replace the trans don't use a cheap rebuild, avoid Kragen, Autozone units, they are junk!.

    that is why i keep saying to get the code tests run, that will show a defective solenoid. and yes there is a chance, but the check engine light would be on.

2000 buick century does not shift into any gear. prndl does not change from the "P" position. A cable is brokeen/disconnected. how do i shift it to drive it home /to repair shop?


The only way to drive the car is to start the car and have someone sit in the car with there foot on the brake firmly and reach under the hood and shift it manually. The shift linkage is on the top of the transmission. Move it 3 "clicks" and that will de drive. The bad thing is once you move it out of park it will not start again until you move it back to park or neutral. And when you stop and take your foot off the brake the car can roll. So be careful!

What does D and S means in Toyota Axio


It's in your owners manual, but...
If you mean at the shifter... D is for automatic drive, ...
S is for sport shift, where you move the lever + to up shift and - to down shift. Like a standard without the clutch.

sounds like a spent tranny to me sounds like the drive gear is gone or you are very low on fluid and if not kinda sounds like bad torque converter.

This sounds like a shift solinoid. If that doesn't solve the problem then most likely the transmission is having internal problems and will need to be rebuilt. First check your fluid. That is the cheapest of all.

Test the transmission module. It controls everything the transmission does, the timing of shift points, gear selection, overdrive, etc
