Check you starter, maybe you have a loose connection. Try to give direct power to the starter and see what's happening. I nothing happens, you have a bad starter.

I have a 97 s10 blazer and replaced engine. The old engine was running but had a wrist pin knocking. The new engine started a few times but acted like it was only two cyl. and after replacing all sensors,...

Find the tan wire with the black stripe. It has a connector where it pops out of the harness near the distributor. if you can't find it look under the heater case in the passenger comp. disconnect it. You can now time your motor. Keep the idle speed down so the centrifugal timing weights don't throw your adjustment off. SHUT OFF the motor before re plugging the EST terminals back together.

HVS system is a different can of worms. It has a crankshaft sensor behind the timing chain cover which must agree with the "distributor" sensor position. I have no experience with this system.

2001 blazer..when it rains it won't start...all new ignition parts and new fuel pump....

Try spraying plug wires with silcone spray for spark plug wire that you can get at the auto parts store. Could have a crack in a wire or spark block or distributor. In the old day dirty mechanics would take a pencil and draw a line down the inside of a distributor cap and it would act like it was bad so you would have them replace it to make more money.

hi...
1.try checking the clearance in the spark plug if you have insufficient or more clearance you wont get spark check this.
2.check the wire coming to the spark plug.if power is not coming to spark plug there wil be discontinuity in the wire try replace it.

1990 Chevy Blazer K5 5.7 engine: has engine ping

The temperature sensor is where I would start. If the sensor tell the computer that the engine is cold it will initiate the warm up mode which includes advancing the timing along with a rich fuel mixture. Unfortunately, there are many sensors that assist in controlling timing and fuel mixtures that it is difficult for me to give you a guaranteed solution.

I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer 4.3 Vortech that will not start.

You may want to check your fuel regulator and check your injectors. Had the same issue with a 96 and replaced the whole CSFI spider assembly with a MFI spider assembly and problem was solved.

My 96 chevy blazer has a code ''random 4 misfire'' only misses when in park or idleing at a light. is this and injector issue?

my 96 blazer would have random missfires.... sometimes more than one cylinder at a time... there are a few things to try.... 96 vortecs still used distributor caps... but they had such a high intensity spark that they were well noted for frying distributor caps and ignition coils... i would start there... also a few times i had to replace the crankshaft timing sensor.... it could be something as small as a spark plug wire... i would start with the ignition before spending money to check the fuel system

Replaced the manifold gasket on 2000 blazer it is getting fuel (preesure is 65 lbs) it is also getting spark. 100 percent positive that the distributor is on number 1 at tdc (it is pointing to the #1...

You said your getting 65psi for fuel pressure, if that's what your getting for fuel pressure then it's to much the truck is dumping fuel and drowing out the plugs that's why it won't start. Fuel prssure should read 30psi at start then when the motor is started it should still read 30psi until you give if gas then the pressure will go to 40psi being the max.

Take off the distributor cap. Check the star wheel that is splined to the distributor shaft that the pick-up coil uses. Make sure this wheel is not loose on the distributor shaft. It is right above the pick-up. If it is loose, replace the distributor. This is a common problem. If it needs one, all the part stores stock the distributor.
