My 2000 Silverado is running bad it started loosing power backfiring so I replaced roster button cap plugs wires didn't back fire but still run bad so I replaced gas filter still run bad

Have it tested with a scan tool ,check engine sensor data parameters ! Possible dirty or bad mass air flow sensor ,O2sensor ,Coolant temp sensor, map sensor etc... Check for vacuum leaks , Plugged fuel injectors , dirty throttle plate , also check fuel pressure . Is your check engine light lit ?

Car hesitates and backfires when warmed up from a dead stop

Do a injector leak down test to rule out leaky injectors.

Leaky injector will drip excess fuel into the intake on dead stop.

Back fire will damage intake manifold gasket and waste fuel.

1990 Chevrolet celebrity doesn't want to turn over?

Im 95% sure its a weak running fuel pump. Most of the time an engine that backfires is out of time tho. I would
check this first, as this is the problem 95% of the time. It could
also be bad fuel, a bad catalytic converter (rare) A bad coil, distributer cap or igniton module will definatly cause it. A fuel injector that is spraying excessive fuel out will cause an engine to backfire. Burned or leaking valves will cause it (rare).

Backfireing

Back firing is caused but lean conditions suggest a fuel injector volume test. This requires a injector pulse generator. pulse each injector for same interval usually 100ms and record pressure drop and re prime line between each test for accurate values. If all is fine. remove valve cover check for broken valve spring or flat camshaft lobe. low rocker arm movement.

I have to pump the throttle several times and then it starts sometimes and sounds like backfireing allthough its feul injected!

'pumping' a fuel injected engine is NOT like the old days (like with a carb)-if you hold the petal to the floor, it shuts off the injectors-NO petal, the injectors pulse (and dump fuel to an engine that is slow to start). If you are having hard starting, chances are good you have a flooding condition-leaking injectors, leaking O-rings, a damaged fuel pressure regulator could all be re3asons for your hard starting (and backfiring from a flooded engine). You should try to HOLD the petal to the floor and see if that helps-if it does, you should get the fuel regulator checked, replace the injector o-rings, check fuel pressure and might even need to consider replacing injectors themselves (or having them cleaned).

I have a 180E 1991 model that is hard to start and when it does start it has a bit of a miss sometimes when starting it backfires/pops through air cleaner, others days just won't start

BACK FIRING AND HARD STARTING COULD BE CAUSED BY LOW FUEL PRESSURE CAUSED BY WORN FUEL PUMP.STOP UP FUEL FILTER AND STOPPED UP FUEL INJECTORS.IF ALL IS GOOD LOOK FOR VACUUM LEAKS AT INTAKE HOSES AND INTAKE MANIFOLD.WORN VALVES WILL CAUSE MISSING AND BACKFIRING.

I'm having the same trouble with the flooding after warm start...if it's the temp sensor, would the temp gauge be working? It's in a 1991 Chevy van with an injected 350 carb.

First time changing fuel injector seals. i turned the switch to far the car backfired and caught on fire. i put the fire out with a dry chemical the intake was open. i changed all the wires and the spark...

When you replace the seals for fuel injectors, it's a good idea to soak the rubber seals in gasoline before installing them. This will help the rubber to swell a bit. Remove your battery connection before working on your car if you couldn't find your fuel pump relay. This give you fire insurance.

Maybe you fried your ign control module. If dry chemical went inside the intake you'll have to clean that up preventing it getting sucked inside the combustion chamber. If you fire this inside, you might bend a valve, damage your cat converter, damage your 02 sensors, damage your exhaust valve.

Working with fuel is risky, even if fire or sparks are not present it can ignite from compressing the mixture. Maybe you should buy more insurance. Remember a real mechanic may not know how each and every car works but knows every danger involved while working on it. Safety first. Cut all power before screwing around electrical work.

I was sitting idol and put the car in reverse and was able to back out when I put the car in drive and stepped on the gas it cut off . Now it will turn over but will not start. no popping or backfire when...

This might sound stupid but do you have fuel? You might have a faulty gas gauge, add more fuel if anything. Charge or switch the battery, maybe jump start it if it rotates slowly. Check the timing belt and components. It could be fuel related, leaking injectors, faulty fuel pump or pressure regulator etc. Or it could be electrical (short-circuit) check your fuses.
