SOURCE: ticking noise

you need to give us more info about your car, based on your info i would say one of your valve lifters is bleeding off pressure when the engine is off, you can try putting 1/2 qt. of automatic transmission fluid in your engine oil, atf is a good cleaning agent and may clean your lifters up. i have done it many times

SOURCE: 2003 Buick Century Custom and the Service Engine Soon Light

You will need to have a reputable mechanic do a diagnostic check on the car to determine the problem. This should pull up a code number in your car's computer and help point the mechanic and you in the direction of the malfunctioning part/s.

Just today, I had a diagnostic check done on mine for nearly $45.00. The mechanic was able to figure out the reason why my service engine light was staying on. I knew my car's radiator fans failed to run when car's engine was hot except when the A/C was running. I had changed out the sensors and was never able to get the light to go out or get the fans working. They were able to determine that the 25 amp fuse for the fans located under the hood was blown. After replacing it, the fans worked as they should, my car runs cooler and the engine service engine light is now out. Of course there are many possible reasons why the service engine light may come on including problems with the car's emissions. A reputable mechanic can solve your problem.

SOURCE: need unlock code for 2003 buick century car radio

You will need to take the car to a dealership to have the service department unlock the radio for you. They have a special code to unlock the radio and then you are required to change the code to one that you will remember. An appointment should not be needed because this takes about 5 minutes. I do not remember the code, sorry.

SOURCE: Engine ticking noise on cold starts

Sounds like a stuck valve lifter. I'd use some oil additive for unsticking lifters.

They are not adjustable. There is a chance you can tear it down and clean it, but there is no adjustment to them.

2003 buick centary cliking noise when starting goes away after 5 min 17000 m

If you have the 3.1 engine, that is a very common issue. Nothing to worry about if it indeed does go away. It's when the noise continues that you need to be concerned.

Knocking engine ?

Are you sure you are not hearing a popping noise from upper intake and throttle body because of a intake valve burnt or sticking open. Do a compression test on all six cylinders to see which one is low.

Engine ticks are very common in these motors. But I would do a compression check and have the repairs done professionally.

2001 Buick Century Ticking Noise

Okay, lets hope it is something simple. Remove the underhood light bulb. At night, in the dark, start the engine and look under the hood. You may be able to see sparks jumping. This would be bad wires. If you can see where the spark plugs go and one has a spark jumping it is just one bad sparkplug. Turn off car-replace underhood bulb.
If you see no sparks then it is most likely the valve train. If you have adjustable lifters they need someone to tighten them up to specifications. If they are not adjustable you may need to replace worn parts.
Make sure you keep fresh and plenty of oil in the engine. It can not repair worn parts but if the oil is low or dirty you will have bigger problems.
