Question about 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

1 Answer

I have a 04 3500 silverado 8.1, if I step on the gas at 45 mph it begins to gallop for a lack of better words. Also the tach is stuck or reads incorrectly.

Shuddering at 45 mph

Normally I would say you have a basic cylinder miss. The engine is under the most load when the transmission shifts into lockup or overdrive.
Is the check engine light on ?

My 99 maxima car rpm goes up and down olny when i hit 2,000rpm's and will not go over 45 mph what could be wrong with it ?

If your driving along light on the gas & as the transaxle
shifts or later the tach or rpm flairs up,then the transaxle
is slipping

There is no fix for that ,other than having it removed & rebuilt

Need a trans repair shop for that

Dodge ram 1500 studdars a little bit between 35 and 45 mph

A misfire on # 8 Cylinder which can be caused by poor fuel quality or metering, low compression, lack of spark or unmetered air entering the engine.
There are other possible, less obvious causes as well.
Fuel injectors, related wiring, sensors and computer issues
Running out of gas, or poor fuel quality
Evaporative emissions system (EVAP) concerns: fuel vapors leaking into engine
Incorrect Fuel Pressure
EGR system concerns: leaking EGR valve or restricted ports
Base engine concerns: low compression, valve train problems and timing issues
Ignition system concerns including, but not limited to:
Faulty spark plugs
Faulty coil or related wiriing

I would get the Dyno tuned and see what the computer is reading 35 and 45 MPH. or you could check with your local dodge dealer to see if there was a recall or update on the Computer if there was or is any issues.
Good luck and hope this helps, Old School was so much easier.
