the fans come on and cool it off. your low on coolant and you can get air pockets in the motor. run it while you fill it. it will role out on ya but be patient. the thermostat takes time to open,it takes 175 deg to open it..and if it still gets hot after that then your thermostad is bad.good luck

Temperatures don't rise and fall like that, so your problem is likely with the temperature sending unit. Check the wiring/connection at the the unit. If all looks good, you'll need to replace the sending unit. This is an inexpensive part, ant it's simple to replace. Your brake problem is unrelated, but it means that you need a brake job. Manufacturers put in a layer of material that squeals to let you know when the pads/shoes are worn to the point that they need to be replaced.

I have a 2003 ford expedition with the 5.4L that whistles at 30,60, and 70 mph when its cold out

Not sure the significance of the cold part. Typically when I hear a vehicle whistling, if it's under the hood, I always suspect a vacuum leak. A late model vehicle like that should throw a check engine light and some trouble codes if it were a vacuum leak.

Why has my 2004 trailblaizer suddenly start to overheat and make a whistling noise?

First check the thermostat being stuck open causing high temp, can take out and drive to check or replace, inexpensive part. Not sure on whistle, maybe window slightly cracked or vacuum line disconnected or cracked

Every morning first drive, after pressing accelerator for first 5 to 10 minutes, you hear whistling noise under neath the Honda Pilot LX 2006

you most likely have a loose belt.only a mechanic can tell you which one. this is an issue that needs to be dealt with,or else you can be in a break down situation. the whistling is a belt slipping, then when it warms up,it quits right? you never hear it unless it's a first start up,or a cold engine long as engines warm it will restart with no sound at all. please get an estimate at least 2 estimates,it should not be very expensive, less than$60.00 and thats high. thank you for choosing

In my Tiguan 1.4 TSI, 2010 I hear a short whistle sound while press a sudden press on the accelerator (Not the normal Turbo charger sound), VW dealer confirmed requested to change the water pump which...

I have the same whistle sound, too.. since last year... just after warranty period. I've notice it comes from the clutch of the compressor that helps the engine until 3000 rpm when the turbo goes into the action. to replicate the sound, check left side of the engine, put someone to push the clutch pedal and then press on the accelerator. Check with VW if there is a solution, although I think you will run thousands of miles and no damage because of that.

High pitched whistling on startup - madza121

The symptoms sound like a loose fan belt to me. That is normally described as a screech instead of a whistle but everything else matches.

This should not be hard to fix your self. Also a mechanic should be able to do it in 10 minutes including chatting to you.

If it is a fan belt your mechanic will know the sound 4 streets away too :)

For a short term fix and to prove if this really is the problem you can get your self something called "Belt Grip" It is in a spray on can. Follow the instructions on the can and if it fixed the problem you have the cause. Either get someone else to tighten your belt up or figure out how it's done. Basicaly you just loosen an adjusting bolt normally on the alternator and slide it out a little bit on it's track then tighten it up again.

Hope this helps

Have the idle air control valve looked at. There have been many issues with them. They get dirty and wont allow the pintle at the end of it to seat properly.
