Hi!!

For your vehicle, there is already available the pulley with the bearing for about $13 at AutoZone.

To install, set a long rachet or breaker bar with a 15 mm socket on the pulley bolt, and remove belt, once belt is removed, turn rachet/breaker bar the oposite way to loosen bolt, remove old pulley and install new one.

Don't forget to rate this post, Good Luck!!

Why belt keeps shredding

usually due to a bad bearing, or from resistance due to a frozen or failing assemble, as in power steering, alternator, or an idler. The best way to determine is to remove the belt and check all pulleys for play and resistance.

Rattle noise coming from belt

this could be a bad pulley or alternator, you will need to remove the belt and spin the pulleys by hand to see which one is making noise, it could also be the ac compressor pulley, start there.

Belt drifts in towards engine and is been cut up as a result

One of the pulley's are warped or the tension pulley bearing are gone causing wobble which is letting the belt run off. It most likely is the tension which isn't hold the proper tension on the belt giving it the ability to run off. I would try changing the pulley first for the tension.

My truck is making a whinning noise when you crank it up. It then gets louder as you give it gas.

You could have a Serpentine belt going bad or the tension pulley has gone bad. The noise can also indicate a bad alternator bearing and your going to have to replace the alternator soon. The alternator will still keep working and producing 13 to 14.5 volts, but the bearing may be bad and will fail soon causing your alternator to total fail then. Good luck and hope it's a simple serpentine belt or tension pulley that needs to be replaced other then a alternator. If it's the Alternator that has gone bad, Auto Zone will have the replacement part and can give you the step by step instructions to getting the job done with common tools.

Tension spring and pulley fell off

that seems to be a problem on several types of cars .. the pivot bearing freezes up so the tension spring no longer limits force on the belt .. then the pivot may break at a time of high stress .. you can replace the entire assembly with factory or replacement parts .. then its a good idea to inspect it now and then to make sure its free (pushing on the belt should cause movement of the tension pully .. there is usually a nut on the pully that you can use to move the pully to relieve tension so the belt can be installed ..

Tension belt puller making noise

You can get a replacement pulley at your local auto parts store for less than $50.Don't let them talk you into replacing the tensioner unless it's visibly bad. It's almost always just the bearing in the pulley .Go to your local auto parts stores website to see if ones available as well as it's cost.

How to tension belt

Your car should have a self adjusting system. If the belt is on the pulleys and it's not tight, the tension pulley is seized up or the bearing in the pulley is shot. The best solution is to replace the tension pulley.

The tension pully 4 serpintine belt making funny noises

The bearings in the tensioner are shot, and it's time to replace it. This is also a good time to replace the serpentine belt.
