You started with one of the expensive parts. I always start with the cheapest first and then spend my way up. Will need to check fuel pressure regulator located behind the plenum chamber. Guessing your fuel injectors are ok. I 96 LAND ROVER START PROBLEM - gems.jpg Pop your hood. Do you see a rectangular plenum chamber with '4.0' or '4.6' embossed on the center of your engine? If so, you have a GEMS engine. BOSCH engines will have a collection of tubes in center and no such label. bosch.jpg or you can always go tohttp://www.lrrforums.com/index.php?s=2520478ada19011f439696be3e4e31d3 for expert advice.

Have Changed the Compressor, Belt Tensor & pulley, Alternator, Air-cond compressor.
The problem still occurred. The same noise still there.

SOURCE: 2001 land rover discovery II locate fuel filter and fuel pump

for Land Rover Discovery 1999-2004 no more external Fuel Filter serviceable anymore...it's a built-in part with the fuel pump. so if you want to change the filter then change the whole fuel PUMP.

96 ROVER DISC. Has strong reverse - won't engage any forward gears. Fluid seems full even when warm.

Make sure the 4wd shifter is in correct position and hasn't slipped out of correct spot to get you moving forward.

My son has a 96 Land Rover Discovery I that the

You need to start by removing the inner door panel, Remove screws that hold door pull and inside release handle. There are multiple plastic clips that have to be popped out. Use screwdriver but a trim clip removal tool works better.(Lisle tools part #35400). Once panel is loose unhook elecrical connectors to panel, peel back plastic vapour barrier, access to all latch parts, rods window regulator , etc is now available.

How do i change freeze plugs on 96 land rover discovery

Diesel or V8 Petrol?

The side one are relatively easy to change after removing the exhaust manifolds but there are two at the back of the engine on the V8 and to replace them means either taking the engine or transmission out. See this pic of the back of my engine: http://p38arover.com/rover/p38a/pix/4.6%20rear.jpg

1995 Land rover discovery leaking power steering fluid.

the steering boxes on those were leaky messes, seal kits, rebuilt and new units are availible. expect a couple hours for a good mechanic to remove and replace, resealing takes a longer once the unit is out. be sure to also check the steering hoses and pipes for leaks, pretty much everything is located in the front left of the engine compartment. check out roversnorth.com and atlanticbritish.com for parts and prices. stay away from land rover dealers if you can to save on cost.
