If it was the heater core it would be leaking in floor board.if temp goes up or down that means your low on water or your thermostat is bad

You have a clogged heater core that needs to be back flushed, or you have a blown head gasket that needs to be replaced.

2001 Ford Taurus No Heat I am having trouble with

possibly the bled door is stuck open so only the cold air from a/c works when on defrost vs closing to allow heat to cycle through the system as defrost runs through the a/c system

No heat for me and my daughter 201 ford taurs everything you can think of has been done to this car please help

i hate no heat. ford taurus 2001 are a problem sometimes with heat issues.on the firewall there are heater hoses that get clogged, pinched, and sometimes it's just a bad heater core. you said everything you can think of has been done?[replaced heater core? flushed the radiator? are the cooling fans coming on? is radiator full of coolant? have you took the cap off to be sure?like i said,i hate no heat. i'm still thinking.thermostat new?the blower works but only blows cold air?ok if thermostats good, radiator is full, blower works, radiators full, cooling fans coming on, no engine overheating but temperature is fine, let's do this for a short winter time solution only!in the front of your car with the hood up.look at the radiator,ok,in front of the radiator, place a peice of cardboard in front of radiator on the bumper side. think i'm crazy right? try this. cut just a small peice of cardboard about half the size of the radiator and insert it in FRONT BUMPER SIDE of the radiator, this will give you emegency heat,it will have to come out when the temperature outside warms up because it will make your car overheat.for sure.but in cold weather,it's a sure thing to bring the heat up inside the car. you are restricting the air that flows through your radiator while the cars moving down the road,do not let car idle as it will heat up,as long as you're moving you will be safe, keep an eye on your temp. guage as you may have to make an adjustment to the size of the cardboard. yep i was a truck driver for many years and know so well how cold the road is. i kept my cardboard handy in the winter and never got cold. you do have an existing problem with your heat, and unless you deal with it soon, you'll need those cardboard boxes and duct tape for a minute.if you don't beleive me,try it.you'll be toasty in no time, just watch that temp guage and you'll be fine. thank you for choosing fixya.com and by the way,let me know how it works for you,i love to hear that i've assisted someone, somewhere.

2001 ford escort zx2 has no heat. Blower OK, AC fine. I did notice the temp guage fluctuates quite a bit. When I select full hot, will get warm (NOT hot) air for about 30 sec. then it blows cold. Could...

It is much more likely you are low on coolant or you have an air bubble trapped in the cooling system. You should bleed the cooling system to get any trapped air out and make sure it is full of coolant.

My heater in my car will not get warm... The temp guage reads normally but was wondering why the heater will not heat up?

These taurus' have a notorious problem with the blend door actuator(controls hot and cold air mixture) failing. This is located in the cab of the car underneath the dash right in the center. This is not a diy project unless you have fairly extensive mechanical background. What you can check with ease though is to make sure that your coolant is full, this can cause a no heat condition. Also get your car up to normal operating temp and place your hands on the inlet and outlet if the heater core hoses, on the engine side of the firewall, and make sure both hoses are hot, if they are both hot then it is a blend door issue, if not then you have a restricted heater core, you can back flush your heater core by removing the hoses and placing a garden hose to either side and flushing it thru. I hope i could help....rate me accordingly. Thanks!!!

My heater will not get warm

Check your collant level If your radiator is full then you can place carboard in from and over the lower third of the radiator to block the air flow. Watch your temp guage to be sure you don't over heat the engine. If it still does not heat up pproperly you can block more of the air flow as l;ong as the neging temp guage is not showing it running hot. If it runs too hot remove some of the carboard allowing more air flow. THe proimary reasom for the heater not putting out warm air is low coolant, blocked water flow to the heater core or a bad thgermostadt (wrong thermostadt; one that opens at too low of a temp, defective thermostadt trhat is blocked open or even a missing thermostadt. Regardles what you do just be sure to watch the temp guage as you can do serious damage to your engine if you overheat it too much. Again, be sure you have the radiator topped off properly before you start

Is the blower motor working? If not that is what it is. If it is working then check heater coil out, Could be bad heater coil.

2001 ford taurus heater only bows cold air-no heat at all=ac works great tho

check coolant level in overflow bottle and the radiator first.

check to see if temp blend door is rotating back and forth. Rotate temp knob while watching the motor that operates the blend door under the dash.

check to see if both heater hoses are hot where they go into the cowl in the engine compartment into the heater core. If not hot, check temp gauge to see if it reads nomal, if not replace thermostat.

No heat after changing thermostat.

remove the heater core lines the two hoses that go to the heater core, take a splice tube either metal our plastic your part store will have either one. take the splice tube and install it in one of the lines add some hose to that tube make the hose long enough to run out side of the engine compartment and on to the ground. take the other hose and install a flushing tee, hook up to a garden hose and trun the water on . what you are trying to do is flush the heater core , you are also looking for blockage off the heater core, if you little to no flow i would suggest replaceing the heater core
