Question about 2004 Hummer H2
CODE PO441 , Smoked system , found smoke at filter under purge silanoid ,right of battery, normial , i believe so , NO OTHER LEAKS DETECTED , replaced e-vap silanoid and e-vap purge motor ,bench check showed old ones o.k. Replaced fuel cap ,NAPA STANT, silacone grease on gas cap 0 ring proved complete sealing service .cleaned PCV valve,ball rattles and opens and closes tight with air pressure,pulled air intake plentum , all hoses are fine, pulled idle control and cleaned ,works fine, pulled and cleaned off light carbon build up from EGR valve on side of throttle body and reinstalled , seals tight ,cleaned throttle body,12 volt DC power at all times to purge silanoid and purge motor, WHILE ENGINE RUNNING, before silanoid replacement with new one, got one from junk yard , installed with engine running and check engine light on, when power connection made to silanoid . instant fast opening and closeing with clicking of silanoid,light stayed on. disconnected battery for 1/2 hr,light went and stayes off for 10 or 12 start ups, same thing with new silanoid, except no ingagment or clicking even when battery and PCM are both disconnected and reconnected after 1/2 hour, HAVE NOT REPLACED CANNISTER YET, Have not dropped fuel tank to check for problems, NO SMOKE FROM TOP OF GAS TANK WHEN SYSTEM WAS SMOKED . ENGINE IDLES FINE WHEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS OFF FROM BATTERY RESET, IDLES FAST WHEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES BACK ON , THAN WITH KEY CHECK, CODE PO441 REAPEARS , CLEARS OUT WITH BATTERY RESET, BUT CODE SHOWES BACK UP WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON ., MY WIFE HAS CANCER AND I HAVE HAD HEART ATTACTS, WE BOTH ARE ON SOCIAL SECURITY, VERY LIMITED FUNDS. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME WITH KNOWLAGABLE FIX . THANK YOU, AND MAY GOD BLESS. I am using a hanes manual for this dodge darango .
0441 the most common fix for this code in chrysler/dodge vehicles is to replace the leak detection pump / ldp -----other areas to check would be damage / restriction in evap line / canister---faulty purge solenoid or connection damage or resistance in line -bad vacuum switch
