Have you got a check engine or maintenance light showing on the dashboad? If yes then you need a diagnostic test done which will retrieve some error codes. Once you get the code then you can start troubleshooting as it will point you where to start. Otherwise it will be like looking for a needle in the ocean.Hope this helps, good luck.

I dont think there is anything wrong with the tooth. If you have replaced with the exact alternate belt then the only problem is that you did not replace the belt in the right settings, in other word the timing is wrong. This is a very important thing to check while replacing as else you could ruin the whole engine.

I am assuming that you have a cylinder #4 mis-fire, and that there is a data trouble code P0304 (cylinder #4 mis-fire detected).

An electrical mis-fire is what I would suspect to be the problem, and it is most likely caused because the coil pack is defective or malfunctioning, and I have had many problems with those coil packs. Also the #4 spark plug could be fouled out.

A mechanical mis-fire can be caused by a leaking intake manifold gasket, a vacuum leak at a fuel injector seal, or a bent or burnt valve in the cylinder head.

You should replace the coil pack.

Now that is a very different situation, and you should disclose all the information that you have if you want a proper diagnosis, 11 trouble codes is a lot more than what you were initially describing, and a full list of all of the data trouble codes would be helpful in determining your problem.

Also did this all start before or after you had the timing belt replaced?

P0304 is engine misfire #4 cylinder Several things can cause a misfire #1 electrical which you have covered #2 Mechanical Test engine compression is should be around 150 cranking and 120 running . internal valve train components can cause bad compression and the valves then self. #3 fuel injector can be the cause suggest swapping with a know good cylinder and see if misfire follows injector.

2001 Passat 1.8 Turbo engine sputtering and hesitating

My car was doing this and I had to get all new coil packs... Mine were replaced under recall at the dealership at no cost. If you take each code and google it, or even check a VW forum, I'm sure the members there can provide a lot more thorough information...... I have a 2001.5 Passat myself and when one thing goes out they all follow suit. I will help with some research for you and post back...... But I'd check the coil packs that sit atop the spark plugs.

How much is timing belt for 2001 lincoln ls

simply swap out one injector for another (I simply say if you there already just replace the injector...its a possibility that it is a bad or plugged up fuel injector. on number 4 cylinder. if spark and fuel are ok, its the injector doing this. good-day !

I have a 2004 Spectra. Driving to work this morning, car stalled out twice. Cranked car later in the day and the engine sputtered and idling high to keep from dying. Engine smoothed out, but MIL came on...

Well, it is either a timing belt/chain going out or a bad crank position sensor most likely causing the other problems. The O2 sensor may be bad as well but that usually doesn't cause the Misfire. The vehicle on board computer is confused, that is why it is throwing all those codes. and why it gives you that 1166 code which isn't defined. Check the crank position sensor and the timing and timing belt first. Once you have that fixed the rest should clear up.
