I need the timing marks for a 2001 subaru outback 4 cylinder 2.5

The mark is on the crankshaft pulley (small cut) and timing cover, you may need to hilight it with some paint. The sticker on the hood tells you the degrees. Timing is not adjustable. If you are trying to replace the belt you can find further answers doing a google search.

I have a 2003 subaru the left section of my cylinder is making a lot of noise close to the timing belt tension

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

If it's close to the timing belt tensioner then you may want to check out the tensioner itself. If the tensioner is worn out this issues can occur. Please replace the timing belt as well when replacing the tensioner.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Does the 2000 subaru outback have a timing belt that needs to be changed and at what miliage intervals

It should if it is a 4 cylinder. And any good mechanic would suggest to replace the belt between 70,000 to 90,000 miles.

Timing belt

all marks need to be aligned to 12 o'clock driver cam should align with notch in cover, crank sprocket also at 12 o'clock there is a straight line on reluctor of crank gear ,this line matches a notch on the oil pump where the crank sensor fits, right cam at 12 line should match camcase where it meets cylinder head

2003 Subaru Outback check engine light stays on

You may have to take it to a shop and have them connect their OBD tool to the computer and clear the deep memory. If you have a code left in the deep memory it can reapear like that. Good luck. Please rate me so I know how I'm doing. Thanks.
