I would suggest you find out what caused the fire initially. a fuel leak or an electrical short. pull all the spark plugs and crank the engine and observe if you have any discharge of residue. check condition of plugs while they are out and replace if they are fouled.

Why is my vehicle continuously Fast idling?

Is there a Check Engine light on?
Either the Idle Speed Motor isn't working or it has reached its limit of adjustment (for one of several reasons)
The idle speed motor is controlled by the engine computer - looking at sensor inputs to adjust the idle. It is merely a controlled air bleed.
Electrical problem will be: motor - wiring to the motor - computer - or sensor input to computer
Non - Electrical problem: air entering the intake manifold not controlled by throttle body i.e. vacumm leak from damaged hose, gasket or crack in manifold - also you may have the throttle body out of calibration (open too much)
If you need to find a vacumm leak you can use a can of carb cleaner - with engine running - spray lightly around vacumm hoses and gaskets - when the engines rpms pickup it is leaking in that area.
WARNING: Carb Cleaner is Flammable - be careful not to start a fire - and have a fire extinguisher handy just in case.
Please let me know what you find out and if this helps at all.

    How is fire extinguisher used

Pull the safety catch, aim at the bottom of the fire (not the top of the flame), and compress the trigger.

04 Kia Serento 4X2. Won't start on a regular basis. Changed the starter but the problem still exists. Battery seems fine the car just won't "fire up"

If it turns over just fine and won't start "crank no fire" first spray some starter fluid into the throttle body, if no change in the situation then you know that fuel isn't the issue. Next take a spark plug out, replug it into the wire without putting it back into the engine, set it on the intake manifold have someone turn the engine over and look for a steady spark. "Do not hold it while it is being turned over." if you get steady spark then you know it is not the ignition system. repost findings and we'll get you fixed from there. I will respond within 24 hours of your response. I hope this helps.

There is gas in the intake manifold of my 99 Silverado LS 1500 5.3?

Sounds like a stuck open injector to me. I think most if not all of those codes are ghosts caused by the computer trying to make sense of all that fuel. Plug the injectors in and bump the key and see if one is spurting fuel. Have a fire extinguisher ready, and aim the injectors into a bucket if you can.

    hi,
go to autozone.com sign up for free then find the fuel relay. study the wiring and jump the fuel pump relay or get the cover off of it and sand those contacts and see if you get any action. it may have been your fuel relay the whole time. if you jump the fuel relay and it doesent pump fuel then tour going to have to study further. crank angle sensor, collision sensor may caused a halt like that. keep a fire extinguisher handy when your working with fuel system and not in the garage...jm

Previa van won't start even after battery changed out. No lights or anything. Several people have suggested the main fuse or an inline fuse could be blown. Where are they?

they're speaking of fuseable links. They are larger gauge wires that are in the wiring harness near the battery off the positive battery cable. many times they have "swollen" junctions where they connect to the wiring itself and contain the fuseable element. they carry larger multi-circuit feeds to important components like the fuse box. use a simple light (lamp) driven test light to check them before and after the swollen part of the fuseable link. when you find the bad one replace with an actual fuseable link and not just a big wire because if a short exists (say at the back of the fuse panel) an unfused feed will burn up the panel or even do more damage to the wiring harness, and the cost of the repairs will soar. fire is even a possibility.
NOTE: toyota vans often have very long and expensive battery cables, perhaps even "junctions" where one connects to the next. check these cables while disconnected with an ohm meter or by bypassing them with jumper cables. keep a fire extinguisher handy should something go wrong.
