Question about 1993 Ford F250

1 Answer

I have a 1993 Ford F-250 with the 5.8 liter

I have a 1993 Ford F-250 with the 5.8 liter engine. I replaced the engine after throwing a rod, with another 1993 5.8 that may have come out of a F-150. This engine has a smog hose that appears to run to the fender, but my truck has nothing to connect this hose to. I need to know where this hose goes and what it connects to, so i can get my truck running?

I have no idea where the hose goes to.
This i do know. The truck starts up and runs, but when driving it wants to stall out unless it is shifted from drive to 2nd gear, then it can power through the stalling.
I believe the hose is blowing air through it.
I will attempt to post a link to a post on a Ford website I belong to about this problem. http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/941086...

I hope this helps clareify the problem better.

85k miles I'm being told has a #4 rod knock. Is there anything I can do besides replacing the engine. They said if I keep driving the rod will blow through the block.

a ford that's an 08 and has less than 85k this sounds as if its a factory warranty call on this one . I do believe that ford offered a 100k powertrain warranty in 08 an if a rod knock is allowed to continue then yes it will throw the rod right thru the side of the block (theres nothing to keep it inside) destroying the engine

What is the problem ? I have a 1993 ford f 250 7.3 liter diesel. New Glow Plugs. Glow plug light comes on and goes out very quick , engine cranks excessively , before starting

I think you nailed it with the amount of time you glow plug light. It should stay on until you engage or it should be timed to stay on longer.

Crown victoria making knocking noise

Listen to the engine, if the noise is down low it is rod if it is up high it is valves. IF it is rod knock it will eventually throw the rod.

Here are the firing order diagrams for those engines and I hope that they will help you solve the problem that you are having. For some reason Ford has listed the same firing order for both engines starting in 1995.

I need to know the correct Distributor Cap Wiring Sequence and the order of the sequence ( clock wise, or counter) and Starting Point for a 1993 Ford F-250 LX 2 wheel Drive Truck 5.7 Liter, Automatic

Number 1 should be marked on the cap. It's at about the 11 or 12 oclock position looking from the radiator. It turns counter clockwise. 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 for a 351 (5.8)
