Our 96 kia sephia won't start although battery is good but stranger, it wont come out of park

There is a problem with your shift interlock switch - the car will not start because it does not recognize that it is in park. look around your shifter - there should be a little plastic cover about the size of a dime somewhere. remove it, and there will either be a button or a switch to turn to override this control. good luck!
