i got a 2001 silverado 1500 and it wont start it turns over and fires and .... Put the key in and the truck barely starts due to the battery being weak. .... If the brake lights and turn signal lights work, then there may be a bad fuse. Check the fuse box.

un hook your battery for 15 minutes then retry to start

You can try resetting the radio by removing power from it for a few minutes, reconnecting it and trying again. However, it sounds like an internal electronics problem that will either require a repair or replacement.

I had the same issue. Check fuse number nine.

Hi.

Try pressing repeatedly the eject button on the on dash player while turning on the stereo at the same time. If that does not work disconnect battery terminal for one minute to reset the electrics and try again pressing eject repeatedly on startup. Make sure that you have the stereo anti theft code if needed before disconnecting the battery.

If that does not work, then the unit must be disassembled. The car stereo must be removed from the dash. The unit must be disassembled removing screws at back and bottom and undoing metal casing clips. That will reveal the CD drive allowing to remove the disk.

check ALL fuses because some fuses feed other fuses and are not labeled as such. start with cig lighter fuse

Check the fuses. Were the wires cut (possibly shorted) or was it snatched out (possible damage to harness). Normally the fuse for dash lights is the culprit. Should be identified on your fuse panel cover or in your manual.

Hey, Buddy.. I just had the same thing happen to me. If you look under the hood over the left front tire you will have a black box with Electrical Center written on the top of it. Just look in there you will have a fuse marked Radio that will be blown. It should be a 15 amp fuse.

I am surprised that GM has all that stuff on one fuse and of all things on the Radio fuse...
