SOURCE: Front Left Sway Bar Link

The front stabilizer shaft (sometimes called a sway bar) is mounted to the top rear of the frame and to the lower control arm. The shaft is attached to the frame with clamps and rubber insulators and to the control arms with insulator links.

You can do that in the ground but it is easier to have a jack handy to get the bolts to align back in the chassis by changing vehicle loading on bar. No special stuff I know of...

Reseal 2000 ford windstar rack and pinion

so what is the part number for a 2000 ford windstar v6 3.8L. my mechanic is quoting me $350 for part and total for part and labor about $855. his rate per hour is $90 labor. seems a little pricey. i want to order the part and have him put on and tell him i found out the labor is 3 hours at most. the sway bar links are bad too so he quoted me $202 for that which is where he has to take that off to get to rack and pinion so what is a fair price for sway bar labor if he is already doing rack and pinion? i really don't have the money for either but i have to do repair or p. steering pump can go out do he says (if the fluid leaks all way out).

Check the ball joint, tie rods ( inner and outer ), sway bar end link and the strut for a broken spring or strut mount/bearing. It could also be something as simple as the battery being loose. I hope this was helpful for you.

2000 windstar motor cradle is rusted out is it worth replacing, how hard will it be

Not to bad, you have to support the engine from the top. It is 6 bolts 2 sway bar links and 2 ball joints that will need to be disconnected to remove the cradle.

I have a crunching or clunking sound in righthand side of the front end. I can't see any problem. I was wondering if it could be the main subframe support bolts.

Most likely you have a cv axle bearing issue. You will need a new one. Have it checked out before you end up stranded.
