It is a actuator motor that controls the vent doors, the dash has to be pulled back into the seats to access the actuator motors.

Grand marquis air conditioning

It could be as simple as a bad vacumn line. Those doors are controlled by vacumn from the engine. The engine heat sometimes deteriorate the rubber and they crack or fall off. See if you can find a bad or broken vacumn line .....it will be going toward the firewall.

The air conditioning isn't blowing cold air anymore. It takes a while for it to get Cold, it blows cool air but not cold.

My name is Ron,and I have one solution,Sounds like you need some freon added,if that doesn`t fix ya ,the ac compressor could be weak,or blockage in ac system,or vent door not opening,or opening slowly, and not all the way...hope this helps,roniecon@gmail.com

A/c blowing hot air but it has freon in it.

is the compressor working and pressurizing the freon --- is there air in the system along with the freon preventing the system from circulating --- is the heater control or vent closing --- are the evaporator coils/fins clogged or dirty -- are the air conditioning selector controls properly actuating vents for mixing inside and outside air and closing off heatter vents --- need more investigation on your part
