Question about 1997 Nissan Pickup

Open Question

When starting my 97 XE Nissan Pickup it is bogging down until I give it enough gas and then it takes off, most it time it just stalls. After running it a while it seems to get better. Could this be a temperature sensor or idle control valve problem? or Is there any way to adjust the idle speed? It seems that it is not rich enough when your first start it up.

SOURCE: nissa pickup wont idle at all

Here are the most common causes of surges, stalls at stops, low erratic idle speed and stall, rough idle and engine hesitation, it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

SOURCE: How do you remove the door panel of a 1995 Nissan XE Pickup

Not sure about the 95, but to remove it on my 94 i just pulled on once corner till the fastener poped out, then worked slowly around removing each fastener. Be careful as the the door pannel is quite flimsy but if the 95 is the same as the 94 it should be fairly easy to remove.

Lots of possibilities but I would start with a temp sensor. Did you replace wires and plugs with the tune up? Did it run like this before tune up?

try a tps throttle posistion sensor the engine is not idling fast enough with the ac on thats why it stalls if you have a manual adjustment on the throttle body speed the engine up 150-200 more rpm this should solve the problem.
