1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee tail lights won't turn off

I turn off the 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee and remove the keys from the ignition, but the tail lights remain on and will not turn off.

Im guessing when u say tail lights wont turn off you mean brake lights and yes this happens more times then you make think. Now if you look right above the brake pedal you will find a switch sometimes there is an adjustment u can mess with to re-adjust it but more times than any you have to just replace it. Good luck

If you don't have a check engine light that lights up on the dash when you turn your ignition key to on, then your ecu has gone bad, internally.

How to remove and replace tail light assembly on 2003 jeep grand cherokee. There's one screw behind the rear quarter panel to complete the removal process of the tail light assembly. How do I remove that...


There is 2 screws located on the side when you open your tail gate by the tail light. remove these 2 screws and pull the tail light out and disconnect the wire connector. Hope this helps.

Just bought my 94 jeep cherokee & the screen in the middle consol continues me beep and flash ''rear lamp failure''


the driver information center(DIC) is telling you one or more of your rear light bulbs has failed. it could be a tail light,stop light,center high mount stop light,turn signal or license plate light. have someone in the vehicle turn the lights on and hit the brakes and turn signals so you can see which one is burned out.

I have the same model.you must do this .put key in door turn it left and right 3 times .then when you get in put key in ignition turn it 3 times left and right .now start your nice running jeep.thanks Ed
