I would replace the fuel filter. it's probably gunked up, and after some driving use, the gunk builds up and causes fuel starvation. When the car rests, some of the gunk will run back out of the filter, and it will seem ok until you start up and drive again, when it will gradually build up and restrict the fuel flow again.

I would do a visual inspection around the top of the engine for vacuum lines that look deteriorated of broken. Also check the hose from the air cleaner box where it conects to the motor. Had one recently where the underside of it was cracked and air coming in there is after sensors and makes the car too lean robbing power and making idle rough. If this helps please reply and good luck

Car starts runs fine drive about 10 miles and it shuts of just like you turn the key off then it will back fire at times let it set for awhile it will start back up and run

Possible fuel pump problem. Check pressure at port on intake.
If the hose is long enough and made to withstand the pressure, it can lay on the windshield, held by a wiper blade to be read while driving.

Stalls after awhile

I would first pop of fuel filters and check that rig may have only one but if I am not mistaken mine had one on firewall and one in line. both are like 15 dollars a piece try that first if not that then fuel pump. Another thing you could do is go to gas tank open then cap have someone turn on the ignition switch and listen you should hear the pump engage if not replace let me know if that helps but those are cheapest fixes I would start with first at shop

1988 Cutlass Calais. Motor runs fine on start up.

Sounds like the veh is loading up on fuel make sure coolant sensor to computer is reading right it could be choking the car. Also check for clean throttle body But what the most likely cause is the mass air flow sensor. Blow it out now do this gently there is a wire in there thats what you want clean. dont spray any liquids on it THANK TIM

HEllo I have 99 Accord. Most days when I start out it runs fine, but once it is started after it is turned off for awhile, it hesitates. It does this for the fist mile or two. It acts like it has no power,...

check the spark plug wires one may be damaged and grounding out, i had a simaler problem on a 96 accord ended up being just one spark plug wire

1999 Buick Regal GSX won't stay running......

It's probably the mass airflow sensor and/or oxygen sensors.

Will start up run for awhile then stall and wont restart

Hello, I would start with a general tune up. Spark plugs and wires, Fuel Filter, Oil Change and Filter Change, Air Filter Change, Some injector cleaner would not hurt eirther. Be sure to lubricate your high mileage car and also use a farily good oil for your motor as well. The run for awhile problem sounds like bad spark plugs. I would change your spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotarty button.

Stalling truck

Sounds like it could be a number of things Coil breaking down, ignition module breaking down or a failing relay.Could be ignition relay or fuel pump relay. The relay is the quickest, easiest and cheapest option to try first.

Car dies while running

Have you replaced the distributer cap as well? Check for carbon build up inside the cap and on the rotor itself.
