Hi Mdelah
That is a very quick and easy fix. I believe you may suffer the constant blowing of your signal light right? (I had it so bad that at some point they would break the same day)
Here the good news you do not need to buy them from GM directly at the cost of 80 dollars plus. You will need to find an ACDelco LS115 Socket at any Lordco or other Car Part shop. That should cost around 30 dollars.
The replacing of this is very straight forward. There are two slats on the back of your headlight (white) which clamp the light to the frame. All you do is pull these up and remove them from the pins they are on and pull the whole headlight assembly out. (total of 15 second deal)
Then take the plastic cover of the signal light bay rotate the signal light socket to the left and pull carefully. Pull out the Bulb (if you need it and it works) then remove the little plug on the other end of the socket (the plug with the cables for power to the socket) and attach it to the new socket. Insert bulb place headlight assembly in place the white slats back on the pins and clamp the headlight assembly back to the frame...
Total time for that procedure should be 50 seconds ;) and you won't have to pay a mechanic for that.
It happened to my 98 Intrigue. It stopped as soon as I changed the sockets. It is very simple to do this, just pull it out the the plug from the connector about 4 inches from the socket. I got used ones at the junk yard, 2 bucks a piece. Been working fine for almost 2 years.
I may have had a similar problem assuming you are talking about the lights on the front of the car. If you know the bulb is good, do you know if the socket is still good? You can test this by removing the sockets and switching them. If you can signal right but not left (reverse of earlier problem) then you have isolated the problem to the socket. A new one runs $25 from Rockauto.com and is easy to replace. If you still cannot signal right, does the light come on when you have your hazards on? If they do, the problem is probably with your signal switch (the switch on the inside of the car). If not, you'll have to find someone more knowledgable, probably have to take it to a mechanic for troubleshooting.
replacement bulbs are done from the inside of the engine compartment by opening the hood and finding the socket and twisting of the socket and the bulb will be attached to it and then you just twist bulb out and install new bulb
My 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue drivers blinker keeps blowing out. I have spent too much money on this car and I need to know what if I can fix this problem myself and if so how?
fastboyz is correct. There are two fuse panels. One in the engine area near the battery as he describes. The other one is on the passenger side at the end of the dash board. You have to open the passenger door. If you look at the dash board you will see a panel box cover built-in to the dash. The cover fits the contour shape of the dash. Pull on the cover and that will expose the fuses.
Hi , my right turn signal on my 2000 Intrigue, would randomly work,
kept replacing bulbs which didn't help. I finally replaced the
bulb socket which I got for $10 from a salvage yard. Works great
now. Call around to find a salvage yard that has your car
model. I get lots of parts for my cars and truck, negotiate with
them also.
