My battery light keeps coming on... We bought it and they said they fixed the alternator but the light keeps coming on, but always starts!

Alternator possibly.

Did you have the alternator checked? When the battery light comes on, it indicates either the battery is very bad and is draining power from the system, or the alternator is not providing enough voltage to keep the battery charged.
Once you have the electrical problem taken care of, and the system is getting proper voltage, you can see if you continue to have problems with the engine performance. (The crankshaft position sensor has nothing to do with battery charging)

Check the battery cables. Have someone scan for trouble codes. If the light is coming on the computer is keeping those codes in memory.

fords have a trigger terminal for the alternator and after market remians don't always work

The battery light comes on when there is an issue with the charging system. Most likley you have a bad alternator. With the engine running you should see a min. of 13.5 volts at the battery and better yet 14+ volts. If you have 12.5 or less than the alternator is not charging.

Once the vehicle is started the battery is no longer in play. The alternator is what keeps the power supply to the vehicle and recharges the battery for the next time you want to start the vehicle. Once battery voltage drops below 9 volts or so systems start to shut down. Eventually the battery will drain enough that the engine management system can no longer function and the vehicle will stall.

your alternator isn't charging the battery enough ,, clean and tighten all battery connections, clean the posts ,, , there have been times when I've purchased a new battery it just wasn't up to par,, take it back,, have them load check the battery , this will tell you if the battery has a bad cell in it, if it does,, have them replace the one you bought, once you have a known good battery installed in your car,, start the motor and with a multimeter test the battery posts,, Place the Positive on the + side of the battery , and the neg - lead on the battery, with the motor running, you should get a reading of 13.5-14.5 volts, if your getting less than that first reading, your alternator is shot and will need to be replaced

well...whenever the battery light comes on in a vehicle its almost always a charging problem,i would suggest replacing the alternator and charging the battery before starting it,alternators were meant to keep a battery charged NOT charge a battery, hope this helps

Your alternator is drawing alot of power trying to charge the battery.Try tightening the belt.That should fix your problem..The reason the alternator is whistling so much on cold starts is because thats when it takes the most power from the battery to start the car.And the noise from the alternator is it charging it back up..So I'd try tighting the belt that will fix the smell and watch for the battery light or alternator light in the dash come on the could be your alternator failing and you dont want that to happen..I hope this helps you fix the problem.Have a great day...
