My interior lights won't turn off and kills my battery where's the fuse or how do I fix it?

It appears that one of the door operated switches for the interior light is making contact even though the door is closed. This is indicated by the interior light staying on. It could also be that the "Off/ Door/On" Control switch on the main interior is faulty. Check each door switch by operating manually with finger with door open to see if light goes out.

It this check makes light go out then it could be that one of the door catches is slightly out of adjustment allowing door to sit slightly away from body. Try checking each door for a loose fit by pushing the closed door in and observing if interior light goes off, especially the driver's which gets the most use. There should be only a little movement as the sealing rubbers are squeezed a little more. If door catches are tight then it may be that the rubber pad attached to the door that pushes on the door switch button has compressed and is allowing switch to make contact. If these checks don't produce results then there could be a problem with one of the door switches being faulty and making constant contact.

Driver door has dropped about 1/2". I see a torx

Before attempting to adjust the door, you need to check the wear on the hinge pins. Open the door fully and look at the middle of the hinge. See the pin there? Lift up on the latch side of the door as you watch the hinge pin. If you see the hinge moving around the pin or see the pin shifting back and forth then the metal grommet the pin goes through is worn and needs replacing. Motormite makes a replacement pin set that comes with new grommets ( or bushings to some). It's not so hard to change, but it can be a little tricky. Jack up the door to relieve the pressure on the pin.Start with the top pin. Watch the pin as you jack and keep going until the pin is in the middle of the movement range. Tap the old pin out and then inspect the grommet to see if it's worn past the outer edge of the metal. If it is worn past the edge then you'll need to replace that hinge. Otherwise, you can use that old pin to tap out the old grommet, and replace with the new one, then the new pin. slowly release the pressure on the jack and watch the new pin for excessive movement, then do the bottom pin and grommet.. Test door swing and alignment. If the door still hits low on the catch post, loosen those torq bolts after lifting the door slightly and now lift the door the distance it was low plus 1/8 inch. retighten torq bolts and release jack, then retest the door alignment to the catch post. Don't let the door strike the catch post hard - just let it slowly come into contact as you watch for alignment. Repeat procedure until door lines up centered on taht catch post.
Good luck!!

2000 Mercury marquis dome light comes on in middle of night and will run battery down. What is problem? Thanks

It appears that one of the door operated switches is making contact even though the door is closed. This is indicated by the interior light coming on. It could mean one of the door catches is slightly out of adjustment allowing door to sit slightly away from body. Try checking each door, and at same time observing dome light, for a loose fit by pushing the closed door in, especially the driver's which gets the most use. There should be only a little movement as the sealing rubbers are squeezed a little more. Adjust catch if necessary. If door catches are tight then it may be that the rubber pad attached to the door that pushes on the door switch button has been compressed slightly and is allowing switch to make contact. Check rubber for an indentation and either put some packing behind it or replace.

Im having the same an issue with my Kia..the dorr light comes on and makes a beeping noise while driving.. i was wondering how i could fix it. Any suggestion would be helpful. Thanks

It appears that one of the door operated switches is making contact even though the door is closed. This is indicated by the interior light coming on and the beeping noise is alerting that the vehicle has a door not closed properly when the vehicle is in motion.

It could mean the door catch is slightly out of adjustment allowing door to sit slightly away from body. Try checking each door for a loose fit by pushing the closed door in, especially the driver's which gets the most use. There should be only a little movement as the sealing rubbers are squeezed a little more. When I open the driver side door, the auto window drop feature malfunctions: either it does not open slightly, or it closes early, before I close the door. Where is the sensor/regulator? Car is a 2007...

Sensor is in the door switch. You could try a little wd 40 into the key hole(could just be sticking). Not easy to repair. You could do further damage to door.
