ESC light and check engine light

Every morning my ESC light, and check engine light is on and I have to turn the car off and on, and off and on for about 15 minutes. The car wont go any where, the accelerator can be pushed all the way to the floor and not even the RPM's will move. It makes mornings very difficult and some evenings after work.

Check the engine codes first. Some codes will shut down the ESC and traction. Then Traction codes will shut down ESC. With out codes we just guess.

These codes indicate your accelerator position sensor has malfunctioned. The computer has gone into limp mode, which allows you to drive to safety without damaging the engine. The computer is unable to determine how far you are depressing the accelerator and doesn't want to over-rev the engine. You need a new sensor.

In the mornings it runs very rough for about 15 minutes then its alright rest of the day. Then the same thing the next morning.

I'm taking for granted that you have a 5.4 liter engine, first is there any check engine light? sounds like it may have a bad cylinder head temperature sensor or possibly a fuel pressure issue.

Take it to a parts store like an auto zone and have them scan the pcm (powertrain control module) for any codes. It will tell you what is wrong and you can take care of the problem. The scam is free. Hope this will help you.

Check engine light and ESC light stays on, no driving power

For some reason, the ESC system "thinks" the drive wheels are slipping and it is trying to prevent the tires from spinning.
Take the car to your local Auto Zone and ask them to scan the car for trouble codes, they will do the scan for free. Write the codes down and respond back to this post and we can start to diagnose the problem.
Good luck and let me know.

If your check engine light is on then there may be codes stored in the vehicle's computer. If the car cranks faster than normal then the timing belt may have failed. If you can find an assistant to crank the car while you look through the oil fill to see if the camshaft is turning, this is one test I perform as a mobile mechanic.Good luck and be safe. Please keep me posted
