My windshield wipers will not turn off on 2002 Pontiac Bonneville. I have removed the fuse during sunny days but would like to get the problem fixed without costing an arm and a leg.

I am having the same issue with my 2003 bonneville. Changed out the control switch, no difference. Changed out wiper motor, still no difference. Seems that the problem may be on the wire for the delay. There is a constand 2.5 voltage when the switch is in the off position, cause the wipers to run intermitently. The wipers will run more often if you rev the car engine and increase the trace voltage. A wire is going to be added to bypass the bad wire in the harness. Crossing my fingers, hope this works.

Sounds like the same problem I just fixed on my 02 Bonneville SLE. Research on the web said problem was 80% wiper motor and 20% wiper switch. Changed wiper motor still had problem. Changed wiper switch on steering column and fixed the problem.

Safety Caution: If you don't unhook the battery when working on the steering column the airbag could go off in your face.

To remove wiper switch on steering column on my car: Remove 2 torx bolts on bottom of steering column. Then remove bottom or knee cowl (you have to play rotate it around to get it off over the tilt lever). Then scratch your head for 10 minutes while you figure out there is an external torx bolt hidden under the inside right side of the top cowl. Spend 30 minutes talking to people about where to get a socket, call around and get bad advice then use a 4.5mm metric socket to get the bolt out. Pull off the top cover, disconnect the wiring connector and release the clip holding in the wiper switch/arm.

Having the same issue with my 1999, the wipers just don't shut off. The swith on the stalk has a bit of play in it and it feels like it isn't making a connection to the off posistion. When looking online I see the switch but I don't see the stalk anywhere. Wondering if I should continue to look into the stalk or just order the switch.

the problem is a control piece where the wiper controller meets up on the column needs to be replaced. labor and parts should be less than 200 dollars.while you're at it have the tech look at your signal switch to make certain it doesn't need replaceing ($20). No sense of paying twice to repair two similar problems. c2

Why is my windshield wipers running in the off position, it's like they are running in the intermittent position, but it's in the off position.

When the windshield wiper / washer switch is turned to the OFF position while the wiper motor is somewhere in mid-cycle, the wiper motor module will continue to operate the wiper motor until the wipers reach the park position. If the ignition is turned off while the wipers are in mid-cycle, the wipers will stop immediately where they are. The wipers will park the next time the ignition is cycled to the ON position.

How to replace a 99 se Bonneville windshield wiper motor

Windshield wiper motors are generally easy to replace. You need to remove the windshield wipers and take off the small grill panel above the hood and under the windshield. You should see the motor in there. It simply unbolts and unplug the electrical connector and replace it with a new one.

How to remove windshield washer pump

sounds like the spray nozzles are clogged you can usually remove them and soak them in soapy water or spray water through it with a sprayer on the end of a hose. if that doesn't solve it then you may have a cracked line or the pump that pumps it out may be broken but usually is the nozzles are clogged.

How do I reset the home position on the front windshield wipes of a 2002 Pontiac Montana. The bolt holding the transmission came loose and now the park position is out of sink when they are shut off.

remove the bolt and unhock the linkage, next turn on the wipers and then turn the wipers off, this will park the motor , you will then postion wipers in the park postion and put linkage on the motor, this will line the wipers up, good day.

How to disconnect ww pump inbonneville

The easiest way to go about this would be to pull the electrical pigtail off of the pump itself and that will stop all pumping of the windshield fluid.Locate your windshield washer reservoir and look around the outside of it.There will be a conical looking pump with an electrical pigtail and a rubber hose connected to it.The hose is where the fluid is transferred, but the electrical pigtail is what you want to disconnect. There is a lock clip you have to release, then you can pull the pigtail off with ease.No more pumping!!!! I hope I could help!!! Get back to me with any more questions and thanks!! Rate me accordingly.

Windshield wipers wont work

Possibly a bad ground, They ground through the mounting bolts loosen and tighten all bolts first, do this after checking to see if the wiper fuse is blown. this may fix it, if not check for siezed motor or blown circut board which is the black cover on the motor ..good luck

Windshield wiper on car iced up during snow/driving could not see

You can usually avoid that by using a good quality winter mix washer fluid that resists freezing, making sure the wipers are cleared of ice before beginning the drive and using the defroster to keep the windshield warm. In extreme conditions you just need to pull over and manually clean the ice off by hand.(only do that where it's safe). There are also specially designed wiper blades that will also help a bit.
