Question about 1997 Toyota Tercel
First thing is go and buy a haynes repair book from the parts store. they cost around 25.00 or so. they are not that bad to change. with that being said. first unhook the battery, and all your belts off the pullies. then take the valve cover off (on some models) and the hard part will be getting the balancer off unless you have a aircompressor. and then around 10 bolts for the plactis cover for the belt. and you will see the belt the is a idler pully and a ten. pully you need to locate the screw for the ten pully and loosen it up so you can slide the belt off. and while you are that far into it. go ahead and replace the water pump that rides on the timing belt.
