Hi.

The transmission control module is called TCM.

On a 1995 Cirrus the TCM is is located under the hood near to the ECM module. You will find both modules on the drivers side of the vehicle. The TCM is approximatively positioned between the radiator and the air intake, on the front side of the car.The TCM is the module located at the right side of the ECM (main computer).

To replace the TCM you need to disconnect the battery, unscrew the bolt holding the wiring harness with an 8mm socket, and undo 4 screws that secure the TCM module to the chassis.

Regards.

1995 cirrus transmission limp mode

THE INPUT & OUTPUT SPEED SENSORS ARE ON THE TRANSAXLE , THEY HAVE A TWO PRONG WIRE CONNECTOR @ EACH SENSOR. THEY ARE IMPORTANT !!!! THEY SEND INFO TO THE CONTROL SOLONOID FOR SHIFT QUALITY AND SHOULD ELIMINATE THAT LIMP MODE CONDITION. I WOULD ALSO CHANGE THE TRANS FILTER & FLUID, USE ATF+4 FLUID ONLY , DONOT USE DEXRON FLUID, ITS NOT GOOD FOR THIS TRANSAXLE, USE ONLY ATF+4 , ONLY !!! CLEAN PAN & THE SMALL MAGNET IN BOTTOM OF PAN . USE A NEW GASKET & FILTER. THE LOCATION OF YOUR SENSORS ON THE TRANSAXLE , STANDING IN FRONT OF CAR, HOOD OPEN, LOOK DOWN @ TRANSAXLE, (TRANSMISSION), USE FLASHLIGHT TO LOOK FOR SENSORS, INPUT , MIDWAY, CLOSE TO CONTROL SOLONOID, OUTPUT, TOWARDS WHEEL. LOWER AREA/TRANS, ARE YOUR NEUTRAL SAFETY & BACKUP SWITCHES ! THREE PRONG CONNECTORS, HOPE THIS HELPS !

I have a 1995 chrysler cirrus when im at the light the car starts jerking and sometime it shuts off.

IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU TOLD US THE ENGINE SIZE;STRAIGHT OR AUTO TRANS,AC ETC.
The 3.9 LT V6 engines back then had bad lower distributor/camshaft bushing. IF your car missfires-is hard to start-or tries to run backwards upon shutdown it may be this.
Engine will have to be put on analyzer(to show vaariable timing caused by bushing)=easy to Dx and may be covered by warranty .

Where is thermostat in a 1995 chrysler cirrus LX

A tee is located to the right hand side of the intake manifold, on top you should see the coolant system cap, its silver in color and is about 2-3 inches in diameter. This tee is the thermostat housing, it goes to your radiator and engine block, remove it from the block and you should see the thermostat. Remember when replacing the thermostat, the spring side goes into the block! 2.0L and 2.4L it is under where the upper rad hose hooks to the engine. 2.5L it is under where the lower rad hose hooks to the engine.

What is code 22 on a 1995 chrysler cirrus with a 2.5L. I retrieved this by cycling the key.

Code 22 is coolant sensor voltage low. Sounds to me like the coolant temperature sensor is failing and should be replaced.

I have a 1995 Chrysler Cirrus LX and it won't shift above 2nd

Sounds like your original problem was the TCM. Find out what codes are in the TCM, and fix them. You most likely have a bad output or input speed sensor, or a solenoid pack.

Since the trans most likely gets it signal from the speedo the 2 problems are related, the most likely cause is the Body Control Moduel, these are prone to failure in your model.

TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER

Change the fluid and filter, use synthetic trans fluid, you may cure your issue this way, have you run self test on the trans for trouble codes?
