I'd say it depends if anything else has to be removed to get at it. Other than that, if you have the tools, you can do it. Most accessory/drive belts are easily removed nowadays because they use a spring loaded tensioner pulley. The alternator is pretty straight forward, tape the wires as you remove them one-at-a-time to show you where to put them back.
Make sure before you remove the drive belt you make a good diagram or take a picture of how it exactly goes, many people get this far and run into the problem of how to route the belt.
