Drive cycle

Do not need a drive cycle for every
type of repair
Drive Cycles are not done by the owner
They are done buy the shop that made the
repair,as you have to look up that info & road
test to do it,before returning returning the vehicle
& confirming the repair
Computers are not reset, you only clear all data
that doesn't do anything as far as the way the vehicle
operates

Cars do have a drive cycle to clear up a fault. It more less ensures the issue has been corrected after a certain drive cycle. Some issues have to cycled for 500 miles.

There isnt a sinlge answer to this question. The common DIY mechanic doenst have accessto Alldata, hence why these question forums exist. And the "readiness" cant be brought up by code. Every car... EVERY car with OBDII has a "drive cycle". A specific set of procedures you can do to manipulate the ECU. This is typically done over a couple days of normal driving, but can be forced in a matter of minutes by doing step by step functions such as accelerating to "X" mph for "X" seconds, coming to a stop, then accellerating again, stopping, turning off ignition for a set period of time and so forth.

Idiots should not answer questions they dont know the answer to!

Drive time computer reset

Drive cycle has to do with normal everyday type of driving. So many stops, so many miles, fast driving, slow driving. My car went thru a drive cycle in about 38 miles on my way to work. My daughters took 3 days and about 78 miles. So just drive it like normal.
