Question about Toyota Celica

2 Answers

I have a 2001 Celica with a factory remote..only problem is that I lost the remote a long time ago but never thought much of it because I never used it anyways. The other day my battery died and after I replaced it the alarm goes off any time you open the door and the car will not turn over. Is there a way to disable the alarm without a remote? also the key is just solid metal with no chip. Thanks for your help.

The alarm should disarm if the driver or passenger door is locked and unlocked with the key. and no there is no bypass for this security system, it is integrated into the main computer, fuel and starter are disabled, remotes for this are cheap used on ebay, buy one.

Toyota's factory alarm shuts down with keysence. so if it was activated as soon as you put the key in the ignition it would shut it down, if this doesn't happen then the alarm is at fault and will need to be scanned, there is not other reset, just put the key in the ignition and turn it to on, this is from the factory instructions, sorry if you don't believe this but never the less it is the fact of the matter.

U are welcome, also wanted to add that many remote sellers include instructions with the remote, I also strongly suggest you buy an owners manual, not having one in a situation like this is just plain crazy. I have attached links to the products I recommend u buy.

How to turn on my alarm on Toyota celica 1997

There was not a factory installed alarm for this car, any "toyota" security system would have been instaled at the dealer or the regional distribution port depending on what region the car was originally sold from. Do you have a remote for the system? Also check for a red valet button on the dash that can be toggled on/off. The port systems are also known for toggle switches located on the driver kick panel or under the driver dash. If you don't have a remote and manually unlocking the car from closed driver door will not disable the system you will have to locate the toggle/valet switch.

I have a 2001 celica it has been a good car with little to no problems. However I just had a radiator put on it several weeks ago that cost me 550.00. Now my check engine light is on and while sitting

Let's explore the radiator, first. Did the Chk eng. lite come on the very first time you drove, after installation? Does the lite stay on right from start? Is the temp guage indicating where it did before the new rad?

Lost factory remote (lock/unlock) celica 2003 how

buy new remotes then have the keys/remotes reprogrammed.as your celica has a rolling code once done, only you can start it with your remotes/keys.(a rolling code means that every time you lock the car with the remote one of the two codes in the remote changes,so only you can start the car)
