Question about 1999 Audi A4

Are the switches replaceable individually.

99 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro AC is running constant pulled fuse on blower to stop one suggestion is that the Switches in the Control panel are bad are these replaceable individually?

Each switch is seperate,in a carrier.just pull out to replace(carefully and square).

if you did it yourself and did not use factory lights or ballast then it could be a voltage detection problem. If you did use factory parts then the headlight switch may have failed by coincidence. also check connections at HL plugs and or switch. ???????????

99 GMC Safari AC fuse has constant 12v even with key off.


power goes from htr a/c fuse to selector switch
and power to blower relay part of resistor module
when you plug resistor key off then no blower because htr fuse current coming from ignition switch

Possible 4 way emergency flasher switch faulty. This is an electronic switch.

Check under battery for corrosion of the ground cable where it attaches to the chassis and engine.

Others have reported fuse block melting underneath the fuse holders.

sounds like a bad muliplug connection, try unpluging and plugging any one you can see.
they clip apart by pulling the locking clasp's on either side. but dont pull the cables hard !

AC blower doesn"t run. pulled blower motor out it runs on the bench. Are there any fuses other than th one in the maim box in engine compartment? Where can the other components of the blower circuit be...


in the duct work where the blower motor attaches you will see the resister block. it is held into the duct work with two or three screws and there is a wiring going to it. undo the screws and pull it out carefully and replace it. your fan should work fine after that. be careful if the circuit is live as it does heat up alot.

Blower for AC/Heater stopped working


if you can reach the blower motor, it could be a worn out carbon brush of the blower motor. if they are, buy a set of carbon brush, learn how to replace them and it would be back running in no time. by the way, when you pull out the carbon brush holder, make sure you dont interchange the position. you can put them back wards and what would happen is the rotation will be reversed. either you reversed the carbon brush holder or just simply interchange the wires that are coming to the motor. i hope i was able to help...
