There is a fan switch,,,,sometimes called a sensor which controls the fan....usually located on the back side of the radiator....likely on the left side....about halfway between top and bottom...replace it...Must drain radiator down to that point...Joe LittleBear

Why wont my 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora start after running the car with the water pump belt off?

Looks like you may have overheated it and seized the motor or the computer shut the motor down without the belt turning the waterpump..have someone take passenger side inner fender well out and access bottom crankshaft pulley...See if it will turn by hand with a socket and breakerbar. If it turns the engine is ok...next put the waterpump belt back on..refill coolant..reset computer by taking ground off battery under back seat for 5 min and retry also make sure battery is at 13.5 volts min.let us know if your successful.

2004 mazda mpv engine racing and cooling fan not working

coolant temp sensor tells the computer how hot or cold the engine is so it can regulate the idle and fuel mixture, when it fails there usually is no cooling fan and you will have trouble starting the engine and keeping it running.

The fan motors keeps running after car is shut off. Also sometimes fans start when car is started cold.

If the fans didn't run any further the engine continues to warm and possible seizure will occur. This is also the reason you will probably go through batteries in the long run. Hopefully this helps the issue you are having.

Radiator fan runs when engine is off

some cars do start up the fan when turned off after they have been driven. as long as it is not starting when the engine is cold there is nothing to worry about. the reason it took 15 mins to shut off is that with the engine not running the water is not being pumped
round the engine thus cooling faster. hope this helps

Running noise in the dash, runs down a new battery

Ah ha! The intake valve for the interior temp. control was continuing to run after the engine was off. It was making noise (like a running fan). I removed it. So what the auto temp does not work. It is an old car... if you get hot turn down the air, if you get cold, turn up the heater. Removing this did not affect the effectiveness of the heat or air.
